Max really is getting better!!
I think this is too good to be true... When Max had his first laser treatment yesterday- the Vet said in 12-15 hours we may see some signs of improvement- however they would be small signs at first. Well... got up this morning- after sleeping in a bit- and Max's diaper was STILL dry! I got him up and around and took him outside- and OMG- was this dog moving. I could hardly keep up with him - he wanted to run with me holding his belly strap. So- I just took the strap off and let him down... and while his steps are still very short - and- he only pulls himself up to the height of his knee- he is standing in a sense. 
I can not WAIT to trot him back the the PT that told us to get a cart... 
John said that he thinks by the end of the month he will be all the way up and moving pretty well 
Is it the laser therapy? The excercises that Carrie and the Vet gave us to do at home? OR- is is the well wishes and prayers from dear people like YOU??? ALL of the above- along with Max's will and determination to chase rabbits this spring 
Looked up Trixsyn- and just as the vet said- all natural healing for joints- bones etc... we are going to start him on it tomorrow. Lori |

| Hooray! That is the best post ever. It is amazing how quickly they can turn around. When I started Chum with the swimming, I thought I was nuts when she seemed more active the very next day. These guys are troopers!!
Don't be sad if he is stiff or sore tomorrow -- that's completely natural and expected. And make sure you (or the doc) works on spine flexibility because you don't want his muscles to lock into that hunched shape. . . Massage should help with that. I am so happy for Max, so glad you found that country doc, and so glad you are sharing this inspirational story with us!!  |

When Drez had her FHO operation, she was fairly slow to get back up and we were putting a sheet under her belly to help her maneuver outside. One day it was exceptionally nice outside (considering it was November) and we put her bed out front and brought her out to lay in it in the sunshine. My husband was working outside around the back of the house and I was working inside. When I went to check on her, she was gone! I panicked big time, ran around the house calling her name. Then my husband came walking around from the back of the house with her in tow, limping considerably but with the biggest smile on her face!! From that point on, we couldn't keep her down!! I'm sure Max will bounce back in no time!! Big hugs to you as well, for your determination to do whatever is necessary to bring him back to a normal life!!  |
