I am buying a coffeemaker for fil. Buying coffee with it. ALREADY chose the brand of coffee/type. All of this is online. Could someone PLEASE just tell me ONE type of grind that is most commonly found in stores/that people use (even if you don't use it)? ...before I lose my mind. I regret asking the group I saw this morning... My choices: Whole bean Espresso Percolator Pressed Grind Drip Commercial Brewer Whatever closest to the coffee he left at our house which is Starbucks French Vanilla Ground coffee. Doesn't say anything else about it? Is this Drip? Thanks! |

I would think the majority of people have a drip coffee maker. That is what is sold the most at my local grocery store.
Is there a Starbucks that you can call to find out about the coffee you have? |
THANK YOU!!!! ((big hug))
kisses too! |
Yep! I have a drip coffee maker too! I buy whole bean coffee, and grind it myself every morning, and it tastes WONDERFUL! Much better then pre-ground. So if you have an extra $10.00, but a Mr Coffee grinder(Or whichever, it doesn't have to be super duper fancy!) to go along with your new coffee maker, and you won't be sorry! |
For a regular coffee maker, those are usually drip machines, which take ground beans. You can buy them in the grocery whole and grind them yourself, you can grind them yourself at the store, or you can buy already ground.
From what you fil left at your house, I'd say he has a regular drip coffee machine and uses regularly ground coffee. Of your choices (and I'm not an expert, but...): Whole bean--not a bad choice, but he'd have to have a grinder at home (they're only like 20 bucks to get, so not bad) Espresso--there's espresso-style beans and then there's espresso beans, which you wouldn't want (the 2nd one) Percolator--unless you're getting him a percolator, you don't want this style Pressed Grind--I think a little less fine of a grind than regular drip coffee machines use, not bad, just maybe not what you want. Drip--Used for 'standard' coffee machines Commercial Brewer--don't know anything about this, but I'm guessing not what you want. |
I have a drip coffee maker too and love it. Many manufacturers make a a grind and brew machine now too. |
THANKS A BUNCH!!
going to buy now! |

Before you buy it.....
My Dad LOVES his Keurig Machine... Lots of brands, ready to go http://www.keurig.com/coffeetea.asp?mscsid= He orders the KCups online for around $10 including shipping. He's 81. |
DANGGIT! I already bought it!!!! Well, just got finished a few minutes ago.
He's a coffee snob, but his coffee pot looked ugly when I stayed at their home recently, so hopefully he needs one. Spent way more than I planned (cost of coffee+c.maker). |
