Ive never had two sheepies together so I may need yr help!! I know I will have to feed them seperately. And feed maizie first! Would I have to move maizie toys away? Or leave them where they are and let them sort it out! Also maizie has her bed in the utility room and hattie bed will be in the kitchen, There is no door into the utilty so they will both roam. Just hope hattie doesn't get on maizies bed lol lol But im sure she will tell her. lol lol |

I'd play a lot of it by ear. Take out the toys and food at first and see how they do together around the house. Slowly introduce them in. I can't even remember what I did when Bear came anymore but it apparently worked. |
It might be a wait and see how they do situation.
Maybe leave the toys out and see the reactions. Maizie may welcome Hattie to play with her toys or not. Then maybe adjust accordingly. Maybe they will want to share a bed or switch back and forth. I'm sure others will have good suggestions. |
Take up the toys for now, feed them separately and when both have finished take the bowls up straight away, that way you don't end up with one sniffing and checking out the others bowl and no food agression or possession problems.
Sleeping arrangements should be fine, just let them explore and get use to each other firstly, then bring in some of the toys after a few days of settling in with each other and see how they interact there with each other Mine have always slept together when a newbie has come into the house and never had a problem with the roaming from bed to bed, but feeding always separate to see that no problems imerge in relation to food till all have settled in together . |
All good advise! Hopefully they'll just adore each other and you won't have any real problems integrating Hattie into Maizie's world. |

Lisa has given you very good advise. I have found with Violet and China that as soon as Violet is done eating her food (her dish is near the doggy door, my mistake) I pick her bowl up, I don't have any problems. THEY DO NOT EAT IN THE SAME ROOM. Violet "talks" off and on while she eats, but China egnores her and eats. On the other hand, I free feed China still and there are not problems. (other then Pearl getting into her food bowl, but China doesn't seem to care.) Good luck with the girls. |
I can't wait for pics! I bet you'll have a great time! I have no more advice to offer than the above, just enjoy! |
I don't have any advice for you......except I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICS
Ty and Tasker have always shared their food with one another an dit's not uncommon for them to both have their heads in the same bowl at the same time. Toys are a different matter, Ty is a BULLY and steals all Tasker's toys but they seem to enjoy playing chase me so I rearely interfere. |
Also, even though they have met each other, re introduce them outside before bring them in...
I can't wait to hear all about it! |
Thank you all for yr help... |
Woohoo! I'm so excited for you and really don't have anything to add. You'll sense what to do and if not...we're always here |
We've never had any problems with leaving toys out. Does Hattie get a bed too? Then probably they'll try out each bed and figure it out for themselves. Good luck, I'm sure it will be great. |
Only 3 more sleeps then you can bring your new fur baby home
The only advice I have, was to let them roam about, play with each others toys - they always want what the other has anyway - I know that contradicts what everyone else has said (sorry guys) but I think you just have an instinct as to what will work. Its been ok for me on all 4 of my dogs - good luck. Can't wait to hear all about it and lots of pics !!!! |
