testies not coming down
I have a question? My brother in law has a 12 week old GSD and when he went to the vet on friday she told him that the pups testies had not come down yet. Now she told him that it can take up to a 1.1/2year befor they come down. So when he went to puppy school this morning(it's a school just for GSD) they sayed that if the testies are not down now that they wil not come down by themselfs. So can someone help me????? You just have to wait and see if they are coming. I know dogs that they have come down after 6 mnd. So just let the time work. Lene |

All breeds are different with the timeline on when they will drop. Sounds like the instructor of the class doesn't really know..  |
12 weeks.......those little guys are still in hiding!! 
Maybe in smaller breeds they drop sooner, but in these bigger dogs they are hidden for awhile. It's been years since I've had a pup...but I'm thinking he was around 5-6 months before his jewels appeared. |
| At 12 weeks they'd definitely still be hidden... in a large breed, at least. They should be able to feel them though - under the surface, smaller than marbles.
It was at LEAST 6 months before Barkley's dropped. Perfectly normal for them to descend on their own at much older than 12 weeks, from my understanding. |
| yeah, that's right......it was 4-5 months before they were sufficiently developed so he could be neutered BEFORE they descended. |
