Separation Anxiety

Hello!! I'm looking for some advice regarding my 16 month old male OES.
For the last 3 months I've had to take our dog with me everywhere I go because of our living situation (we moved from a huge home to a small apartment then now in a house again) During this time while Koda is with me to go the grocery store or while i run errands I would leave him in my car (windows slightly open of course, cool weather) for a matter of minutes at a time. As soon as I begin to slow down and park and knows that I'm releasing my seat belt he goes absolutely crazy, it's gotten to a point where he whines and crys now while in the car. I'm assuming he is associating the car ride to being left in the car which is not always the case. We take him anywhere and everywhere where dogs are welcome but as soon as he's in the car all I hear is a crying and whining dog for 20 minutes. He truly hates being alone - when my fiance leaves for work and I'm at home, he runs back and forth from every window to find him - he runs me over, knocks things down. It seems he's anxious...he was never like this three months ago. I just to figure out how to re-assure him that he's not being left - there are times where we leave him in the house but it seems like it's just getting worse. Some people say ignore them and don't pet them?? any advice would be great.

Is he crate trained at all? A crate could offer him a sense of security and routine for when you do have to leave.
Separation anxiety. :( My Panda had been doing well until a few weeks ago. She had recurrent UTI's so we had surgery done to correct an anatomical defect in her bladder, then emergency surgery the next day because the sutures didn't hold. :x It's all taken it's toll. Here is a link that might help you to help your sheepie-

That was a good article. :D
My puppy was left in the dining room until a couple of weeks ago when he trashed the room after suffering from seperation stress 8O

We got a crate for him and now leave him in the crate whenever we go out.

We thought crates were cruel but we could not have been more wrong. George is now happier and more settled than ever and it's great to come in knowing that he hasn't hurt himself or trashed the house. He even goes in the crate to get away from us when he needs to!

I would consider a crate to leave your dog as it will give him his own space and create a sense of security for him!

Hope you can sort out your problem as I know the stress it causes for you too.
We have used a crate since day one, but only when we're away or need to do something that doesn't require all of Chauncey's help
He likes his crate & goes in there on his own alot. He seems like it better when we cover it over with a throw.
