I would suggest a vet visit first off to rule out any medical reason, could be in pain, or chemically imbalanced, is he neutered? If not, I think you should, if he is, ask them to check and make sure they removed all testicular tissue... have his thyroid checked, teeth, ears, a thorough workup all over.
If there is no reason medically, I would contact a behavioral specialist asap... Welcome to the forum, and sorry you are going through this... I hope you find a workable solution. IF it crosses your mind to find your boy a new home, PLEASE, please consider contacting an OES rescue organization as they are better equipped to deal with his issues and hopefully find him the best home suited to him. |
Is he neutered? At that age some dogs begin to
claim their surroundings. What are his triggers? Are there any consistent times when he is likely to bite? Unfortunately there may be no quick solutions. Many times when these problems arise, the solution takes a lot of time and work on the parts of the people and the dog. Can you give us any additional info ? There are others here who may be able to give better answers. Anything you can add might help. A professional trainer is an option. Some here have had sucess with that route. Shellie |
yes he has been neutered. he usually bites when things he wants are taken, such as the TV remote, i took it from him because he wasent supposed to have it and he bit me. and some times its play time but his play time involves "fighting". apparently he likes to play rough. |
