He could have a clipper burn rash. The clippers do get hot and they can get a shave rash from that.
Aloe Vera Gel on the pinky areas should help soothe that down for him. |
I am going to give the aloe vera a try right now!! I appreciate your quick reply!!

Awe... hope Max feels better. |
I would try bathing him, those little hairs get into everything and can be sooooo itchy! |
I second the bath vote.
Our Ollie got razor burn once after getting a haircut, and a soothing bath did help the itching. The more they scratch, the higher risk of an infection from breaking the skin with their toenails. |
I gave Tasker a clipper burn the last time I clipped him, I felt terrible about it. I was in a hurray and not paying attention. It is amazing how fast the blades can get hot. I usually use the coolant every few passes with the clippers but guess i got in a rush and didn't .
I used aloe vera and lots of apologies. |
Clipper blades shouldn't get that hot that quickly. Make sure that they are properly oiled before you use them.
I have pics on how to maintain your blades. I'll give you a link. |
I have read that the ceramic blades don't get as hot as the steel.
I have steel blades and it does seem like they get hot pretty fast, even though I do oil them. |
