Are there any forum members in this area who may be able to help pull this girl from the shelter and either adopt, foster or transport? Have to work fast on this one. Thanks! Nita |

Thank you to all who have PM'd me offering assistance with this girl. A wonderful volunteer in Coldwater, Michigan who works with the Illinois Doberman Rescue literally came to the Rescue.
Cathy is pulling this OES girl (nicknamed "Sassy"), from the shelter and driving down to meet us in northern Indiana. We'll be cleaning her up and getting her eye infection treated and whatever other vetting is necessary. When she's ready, she'll be put up for adoption. All she has asked in return was to notify the Illinois Doberman Rescue if we find a Doberman in a shelter. www.ildoberescue.com/ Thank you SO much, Cathy! Nita |

Nita AHh this made me so happy! I LOVE this rescue! They do truly amazing things for dogs in the area. And they have a "plus" program that includes breeds other than Dobes. |
Did this little girl get a new home? Sam and I are still trying find him a sister to play with. We have moved to our new homestead here in the country and have a wonderful home for a new Sheepie girl to come and live with us. Thinking we might need to accept the fact the a girl sheepie might not be in the cards for us and we should think very hard about a boy. Anybody know of any OES Sheepies in our area - Peoria, IL that need an experienced rescue OES parents? Also, want to send a big Sheepie kiss from Sam to his foster Mom Betsy! hugs to all |
Thanks for asking. I originally posted this almost five years ago and yes, Sassy was saved. She lived almost four years with us and passed away on January 18, 2010. Here's her tribute thread: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=32207&hilit=Sassy If you are interested in adopting, check the list of OES Rescue Contacts here on the forum: http://www.oes.org/html/oes_rescue.shtml and submit an application to your nearest rescue organization(s).
