Can Harley get sick from eating rabbit poop..............
Harley was in the yard munching on something I went and pulled him away and looked and seen it was Rabbit Poop! 
I have seen the bunny in my yard sun bathing on her back (how cute) but did not stop to think she may be leaving poop in the yard for the (fur-vacuum) Harley to eat!
Do I have to worry? I called the vet and he said as long as he did not eat to much. Well, how much was there,how much does a bunny poop, how much is to much...I have no idea ? 
What should I do HELP PLEASE.........

| Yes, he can. He can pick up bacteria or another parasites that could be in the poo. In fact, Clyde's last bout of was likely caused by him having some relationship with rabbit poo. Unfortunately, it's probably just a matter of waiting it out to see of he starts having any intestinal issues because of it. I should add though, in Clyde's case, it was just diarrhea-- nothing life threatening so don't worry too much! (Not that diarrhea doesn't suck!) |

Dunno as every couple days I clean out the bunny litter box and dump it into my compost and I'm sure Merlin, Panda and Blue have had the occasional dropping. Did you know that bunnies have two kinds of poop...one which is fecal matter and the other which is redigested by the bunny and provides benefical bacteria fighters. I would have assumed they couldn't. Yuki eats poop from all kinds of animals all the time (ducks, other birds, sheep, etc).
We'll have to be more careful. I hope your dog is fine!! |
Thanks for the info.I had no idea about the different bunny poops.... 
(I learn so much from this place ) It has been a few days and Harley seems to be ok. He was not eating that night that he ate the bunny poop.(Maybe he was full ! )
I was worried cause he was acting sick. Just like Yuki ,Harley eats everything he can get his mouth on. I find him on the deck licking up old bird poop.....YUCK!!!!!!!!
