I get so confused whenever I look. What size? Straight or bent? Thinning shears? What brand and price range? I want to order from Petedge but I don't know what is best and I don't want to waste my money. We keep our girls cut short and my daughter also does a little grooming for the neighbor dogs so I would like good ones. Thank you |

Do you want them just for trimming? It depends on what you want to do them in order to pick the best pair. I use straight for trimming up larger areas and thinning shears in areas that need to be handled with more precision or if I just want to remove a little bulk. I've seen people use curved for paw pad trimming but I just use clippers for that.
I have several pair of better straight scissors that were in the $30 to $50 range and, honestly, I don't like the movement on any of them. I bought them online without touching them so I didn't know I wouldn't like the way that they handled. You know what I wound up using that I like the best? Ikea sells a 3 pack of scissors, 2 small and one large for $1.99 and they cut and move great. In addition to lots of Clyde trims, I've chopped on Bear's cords with them and they haven't dulled yet. Heck, even if they do, they were $1.99, I'll just keep buying more as I need them! I have a couple pair of middle of the road thinning shears ($20 range) that I like just fine but I like the plastic handled ones better than straight metal because if you use them for awhile, your finger starts to hurt with straight metal. You can try my better straight ones if you like. I'll sell 'em to you cheap if you like them! |
