Anyway, has anyone else read this? I give my dog cheese for training treats and was wondering if I should be getting the low salt kind? |

Salt is more dangerous for a dog than a human. If you can limit salt, even for snacks, it is for the best.
We do use real cheese here for occasional snacks. Split between all our dogs each one doesn't get too much though. |
I had just heard that recently too.
I'd never known about it before and didn't know why it was bad, aside from the usual reasons that pertain to humans too. Usually, I tried to use "salt-free" or at least "low-sodium" ingredients in my dog food but now I am taking extra care to keep it down. Does anyone know exactly what it does to dogs and how much they should be allowed? Betsy |
I was totally unaware of the dangers of salt to dogs. we made a joke about buying the low sodium cheese for him and then read this article the trainer gave us!
How much salt is too much? And what does it do to the dog in excess? Now, don't laugh but does it cause high blood pressure and the like as in humans? |
