I know they suggest keeping the incision dry but I can remember if it's a week? Can you just wash the front half of him, if nothing else? I know it sounds silly but it might help. Or a dry shampoo? Even a non-talc powder or cornstarch you can brush out, just to absorb some of the stench. I can relate. Bear was like that when I brought him home. His foster parents only had him a couple of days and didn't want to stress him out. |
I know the stitches aren't supposed to get wet, so... I agree on the dry shampoo or washing around the stitch and ensuring that area doesn't get wet. |
Try doggie wipes! They work great & smell nice. You can pick them up at any pet supply store. |
I just gave him a half bath. We think our dogs weren't taken out at all when they were in the medical department of the pound He still stinks really bad and now hes rubbing all over my furniture so I'm going to get those wipes!! |
Zeke once got into a whole bunch of hay and he really
stank, not to mention it really made me puffy in the face and weepy eyes. Luckily I had a brand new pack of cheap baby wipes. I rubbed him all over and I think I probably used almost the entire pack of 160, but he loved it and it really helped a lot. Now I always carry and extra-extra pack in the cars just in case. Do ya'll remember when I first picked up Sam from the shelter? All I could say for about a week was - he is soooooo rank! We even drove all the way back from St Louis, MO with all the windows down on the SUV it was so bad and then I had to have my car detailed. ROFL
I can sooooo sympathize with you right now. (I am laughing so hard it is difficult to type.) |
