As those of you who read my post in the medical section know, we recently had some ugly ear-infection problems with our boy, Eggbert. According to our vet, the problem MAY have been caused by an earmite infestation, since Abby also had (a much milder) infection and yeast infections are not contagious. So, our vet had us call anyone who's dogs had been around ours recently, and have their dogs ears checked too...just in case. Now... I am blessed with a wonderful, pro-active, up-to-date vet, who also is, perhaps, a little bit STRICT and slightly intimidating....and so my family has taken to referring him to as "The Dog Nazi"...(a-la Seinfed's "soup nazi"). So...when my mother takes her 2 labs in to her vet to get checked out, and her vet asks her what made her suspect earmites, she says: "My daughter's vet, out in Eagle River, that Dog Nazi, said we should check." HER vet bursts out laughing, and says: "Oh! You mean Dr.*******(insert my vet's name)!!!! thats hilarious, I cant wait to tell him that!" |

I'm so glad you have a nazi for a doctor. I think? I mean, that can be a good thing, right? If I can find the place, I will have to try him out because I like what you've told me in pm's.
Poor doggies. Hope it all clears up fast! |
If you didn't live in Alaska I would think you were talking about my vet we call her stick up her butt but love her to death |
Sounds like the total OPPOSITE of my Vet. My Vet is an old farm Vet, well not so old age wise. But experience wise he spends most of his time out in the barn. He's so laid back you would think there was NOTHING to ever worry about!! |
I like pro active vets. As long as they are working with you and the dogs best interests.
Once they start reccommending some strange things, or medications that aren't necessary that bothers me. And they keep shoving the pet insurance issue...I just can't take and buy everything. |
Never had a dog Nazi vet Since here, they've been kind concerned but not pushy except for one who much preferred to work on horses. ........wait, yes, there was the guy down the road, he was a bit....harsh. Good vet but not great with the people to people part.
oh well, Dog Nazi......hope the second vet doesn't relate the name. |
The next time we go to the vet, I'm making Scott (my hubby) go in alone!!!
My mother is in SO much trouble!!! |
Unless she goes in whistling "Spring time for Hitler" from The Producers. |
Just say "Thanks, Mom"!!!!!
Maybe your mom should have to take Eggbert and Abby to their vet next time |
I want to be a fly on the wall at your vet's office the next time you have to go in. |
LMAO.... I cannot believe her vet knew exactly who she was talking about. Your Vet must have quite the reputation...lol |
That is so funny, sorry, can't help but laugh. Yep I would be sending my hubby in alone for the next appointment and probably change names too.
Gotta luv moms and what they can say LOL |
That's a hoot! |
