Suzi makes it into the New York Times

If you can't read the caption it says: Wrapped in protective socks, Suzi, an Old English Sheepdog, walked across Seventh Avenue on her way to the 131st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square on Tuesday night. The two-day event culminated with the Best in Show competition. That's me in the photo. I got the easy job- Mandy is out of the photo behind me lugging a bunch of gear on a dolly. It was a green light on a very busy street. The photographer was jumping out in front of us and I thought he was going to get run over by some rogue taxi driver. And the caption was embellished, we were walking back to the Pennsylvania Hotel to retire for the evening, not the Garden. |

Which is why he blurred the background, because a savvy New Yorker would probably recognize his camera was in the wrong direction relative to the traffic flow (and the huge neon ads) to cross 7th ave to get to the Garden.

The photographer seemed excited about the shot because of the motion he captured. I had offered to stop so he could get a shot without being run over. Yes, it's pretty cold now here and Mandy is still stuck on a highway covered in ice. I feel so bad. She's been sitting there for hours now. She should have been home in 3 hours, it's now 11 hours later & she's still sitting there... |

| It is a great photo I bet if you contact the photog, he would allow you to use it for an OES fund raiser. Say 20-25 copies, matted and framed, then auctioned. Just a thought. |

Diane Thanks, but I would have rather it been Mandy dragging her across the street than I. I hate getting any photos taken in my current weight. The boots are hand made by Barbara Lamb and loaned to Mandy by her breeder. There was another post about Barbara Lamb's boots not too long ago in the grooming section.
