This is a stained glass sheepdog my MIL made for us for Christmas. She even gave us the template and asked us to shade in the areas we wanted gray so it would look like Barkley. It looks beautiful with the sun shining through it. Then this was our wedding present, a dove with an olive branch. The olive branch actually sticks out of the dove's mouth. |

I LOVE THE SHEEPIE! Does she sells these? |
Those are beautiful. Stained glass has always fascinated me. I have a personal goal to learn how - someday!
Thanks for sharing. |

She does sell a few smaller pieces - usually around christmas time just to friends/coworkers. It's mostly a hobby she does for herself and as gifts. They take a lot of time to make. She gets the glass in sheets and cuts each piece according to the pattern, files the edges, pieces them together, solders them... etc. Amazing, really. I love the sheepdog too! It looks really pretty from outside too. |
Those are gorgeous! |
Very pretty! I like it. |
Wow, she does beautiful work! I've also seen that sheepie pattern done as a stepping stone. |
Love both of them, I love stained glass, we have a few windows done in stained glass.
The sheepie is magnificent and the doves are just beautiful, what a fantastic wedding present that was. Your MIL is very talented. |
How beautiful!! They offer classes in stain glass work at our local community college but I never get there in time to register!! The dove is outstanding.!!! Thanks for sharing .... |

Thanks for sharing. Stained glass is so beautiful, really. It is pretty time consuming and really worth learning if you wanted to give it a shot. It's also quite addictive for those who enjoy artsy things. The final result is alllways worth it! The glass however can run quite high $$$$ . If you shop around you can get templates and cheaper glass- They even have it now where they sell pieces that aren't glass at all but meant to look like it. Also, someone I know out of NC makes concrete memorial stones / garden stones of OES custom for you. They are absolutely GORGEOUS and I'm in the process of ordering one from her. I can't wait to put it around by my pond. I do have a photo of one in case someone was interested in seeing it. PM me. |
