Help! The smell is so bad!

Yep Farts. Really stinking ones. They clear a room, even she leaves. Any hints on perhaps a herbal remedy?

I am at work and I swear I can still smell them!

It must be something in the air! (sorry  )

Barney has been WAY more scentful these past couple of days...apparently he almost caused an accident when he farted in a small Honda Civic that my husband and a friend and Barney were driving in!
Some food makes more gas than others. What do you feed her?
Innova for large breeds. It is one of the best dog foods I rather not lower her food standards.

Sometimes I give her peanut butter filled kongs and it escalates it, but last night she didn't have a kong. Oh my it was gross!!!
Read the label.........my sheepies cannot tolerate any soy in their food. Maybe the PB in the kong.....PB is a major allergen. Also look at gluten in wheat, barley and rye. Oats are generally OK.

Maybe some probiotics could help clear the air.
Turkey
Chicken
Chicken Meal
Ground Barley
Ground Brown Rice
Potatoes
Natural Flavors
Ground White Rice
Chicken Fat
Herring
Apples
Carrots
Cottage Cheese
Sunflower Oil
Alfalfa Sprouts
Egg
Garlic
Taurine
Choline Chloride
Calcium Carbonate
Vitamins/Minerals
Viable Naturally Occurring Microorganisms

The above is the ingredients. I made a point of getting a food without corn or soy.
I will stop the PB kongs see what happens. She didn't have one last night, but perhaps it will take time.
I'm NOT saying this is the issue, but just something to think about.

I had a friend whose dog could eat anything, except any fowl.
slip the dog a little piece of turkey on Thanksgiving or a piece of chicken and he would absolutely clear the room.

Your food has two fowl protein sources. Perhaps you could try to see if one or both of them are a problem? Feed a meal of turkey, then feed a meal of chicken, and continue until you find one that really makes things bad?

Just thinking.
I found my puppy to have this problem and it seemed to be my overfeeding him...also he had been chewing one of those Kong sticks so maybe it is the soy in there too...but you're right...can clear a room in a minutes or less 8O

I can't believe that you didn't take advantage of the wordplay opportunity you had there-- you live for that stuff! Are you feeling okay? Here I'll do one for you:

It sounds like her gas is some sort of fowl odor. :rimshot:
I can't believe you didn't jump all over that one either Ron. Somebody call the paramedics! LOL

Anyway, regarding the food....
Is the odor/gas a new thing? If so you may want to have a stool check done. It's probably not, but early symptoms of giardia are really stinky gas and poop, then it gets slimey etc...

If it is not a new thing... there are plenty of good foods out there, and not every food is going to agree with every dog.

Good suggestion!!!, Dudley is from Caledonia, and when I brought him home room the breeders he had giardia.. my vet seem to think he might of got this from the Mersey River.....it was quiet common in the Southshore....

Just a suggestion.
If it is not a giardia problem or anything else just the fact that they are toxic smells at the moment you can neutrilise the gas and smell with Dog Charcoal biscuits or tablets. There usually available at most pet stores.

Kelsey has them on occassions 8) :? She can clear a room too and along with herself as well. 8O
Her poo looks fine. But I will talk with my vet of course.

Thanks for the Dog Charcoal biscuit idea. Going into the city on the weekend I will take a look for them.

Yep she will leave a room herself. I have never smelled anything like it, my boyfriends says it smells like the ocean the stinky part.
A strong "fishy" oder might be anal-glands, rather than gas! 8O
Nope isn't fishy. When the ocean smells bad it isn't fish you smell :?
