The first groomer we went to, turned them into poodles. Nothing against poodles, but I want my sheepies to look like sheepies. The 2nd one thought they were giant schnauzer. Needless to say, I need a groomer who knows how to properly trim my beautiful sheepdogs! I am willing to drive about an hour out of our way. Any ideas??? I am in no great hurry, my poodles/schnauzer mix just got groomed this weekend. |

Although I can't help with the groomer search, I did get a big laugh out of reading about your poodle/schnauzer mix. LOL I understand though, I would want a groomer who could trim them the right way. Thanks for the chuckle, even though you weren't trying. Stormi |
Hello, fellow Cornhusker! I have lots of relatives in Nebraska and I was born in Omaha. I have aunts, uncles, 1st, 2nd, 3rd cousins, etc. living in Blair, Nebraska. My daughter in law also has relatives in Blair. Small world, huh?! Where do you live? |
I used to groom at Bark Avenue. Don't know if you have tried it, but I groomed two regular, beautiful OES (of 2 separate owners), Roxy and Jewels. Although I am no longer there, and don't know where I'll be working next, Sue Wilke will do a great job with your OES, if you still need someone. |
I have no suggestions, just wanted to commerserate (sp?) with you! I feel the same way where I live. I've had Beau to two different groomers with the same exact results! The first one gave him a Poodle look and the second one made him look like Schnauzer - too funny!!
My solution is to learn to do it myself. I'm investing in a table, clippers, etc. I figure he might look funny the first time or two, but I can't do any worse by him than the pros did! I've been reading and re-reading Carl's posts and I think I'm almost ready to try it. |
