I'll Take That One , That One and That One

So.....that's what me and my sis said when we went to the SPCA today.

I was called last week regarding six cats were in ISU at the shelter and was to be painted so thus they needed fostering for only a few days at the most. Honestly, I waited until I called as the emails were still pleading for help!

When I spoke to the co-ordinator there were also two beautiful siamese X being kept in holding area (trailer at the back of the shelter) as they were so stressed they hid under towels and wouldn't let anyone touch them. She asked instead of the ISU cats, could I take those but meant fostering for perhaps months. I asked my sister and contacted the co-ordinator who said Great!

So in my confusion I didn't realize I was still taking cats from ISU...sis got her two, then I got my two, then there was that poor shaved bunny that was found in horrific condition..I'll take him! Then we spotted the very tiny dog laying on a blanket in the catroom...no crate..people viewing the cats and this old trembling dog huddled under a bench. I'll take him too! (They would not release him to foster as he's visiting the vet tomorrow and he may be too far gone regarding health). I can't stop thinking of him!
Then there were the LLama's in the holding area in the back...I'll take them my sister said! ...but that was unrealistic as she doesn't have fencing yet. Still the manager said , perhaps arrangements can be made. Not sure if she meant she knew people that do fencing or not.

Thus we went back to my sisters car..cat crates in the back of her car, one below my seat, one on my lap, and we drove back to my house. A frantic pace ensued this cat transferred to this crate, this one in the foster cat room, ect...all the while shuffling my own 11.

So in a nutshell I've got a few more but this time the SPCA gave me bags of food and litter which they didn't do in the past.

I am praying for that little dog to be okay and healthy enough to go for fostering. Can't stop thinking of him.

Well got up bright and early this morning at 5:30 to start the rounds of feeding and providing fresh water bowls, cutting up veggies for bunny and Guinea Pig, providing fresh straw, dispensing meds to ISU cats (LOL that was fun! :? ) Lots of hand washing too! Then picking up the bowls, more water, treats for everyone, and unbelievably it all went smoothly and not a peep, bark, squeal, meow from any of them!

I survived the first morning but only a scratch to my hand and while a bit bleery eyed, couldn't help think....ahhhh this is the life! Wonder if this is the calm before the storm?

Gosh what a houseful you have!

I am thinking of that little dog too. Please update if you hear anything about him.
Haha Marianne, I know how you feel. Yesterday we did a rescue trip at Animal Care and Control and ended up with a few more than we planned 8O

pictures please?
Gee...

And here I though having 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 tankfuls of fish was hectic :)

Keep at it Marianne, hope everyone you're fostering finds wonderful new homes!
Wow, what a houseful!!
Good job!
I'm so jealous, I really wish we had a bigger place. I can't house more than what we have.

My dream tho is to have that acreage, hubby in a different job...and I can build a foster home kennel...take all the extra and keep them in extra large kennels with big runs in the country...and then rotate house time, so they get use to family's.

I LOVE lots of animals, but realistically we don't have the space. I finally learned our limit...and now we are all happy with 1 dog, 2 cats.

That is awesome they gave you food this time, hopefully they transition well with the extra stress of moving around so much.

How is the dog? Did you get him too?
Yes, what a BUSY house! You're definitely the person to do it all!

Great thing you did :)
Wow Marianne! That's awesome what you are doing.
Glad everything went smoothly this am.
Hi Marianne,

You've really taken to heart the saying Go big or Go home. Except you've gone Big in your home. Good luck, that's a lot of furballs to take care of. You can do it, you can do it.
