Thanks Judy -
We'd love to see pictures of your sheepie(s)! |
Cool! I don't feed raw but am interested in reading more about people's experiences, particularly with OES. I just joined the group. Thanks for starting it! |
Great idea! I'm looking forward to learning more. |
I'm horribly computer challenged so not sure I know how to do this stuff - but I think I sent photos to be approved. A bunch of Mick doing Mick stuff. I have to figure a way to do a photo at my name - it says shaved - and sometimes Mick is shorter but he has requested NEVER to be shaved again!
I have a billion photos but these are some of my favorites - I love looking at everyone's dogs! Mick is just my delight and I enjoy so much training him, playing with him, walking. For those that don't know us - Mick is 3 years old now, he is active in Rally with his novice title so far, active in agility (in training), very active in freestyle - we demo'd doggie dancing drills at the Boston dog show the last 2 years, we are just getting into herding, Mick does beginner tracking - can turn 1 corner so far, will be starting some waterwork this year with a newfie friend, and I suppose maybe we'll dabble in obedience maybe if we have time. I have to highly disagree with the general books that rate OES as medium intelligent - I find OES one of the smarter, easier to train, super attentive, extremely focused dogs I've ever had the please of being with. GO sheepdogs! Of course - this is my first. Mick is 2nd generation raw fed, minimal vaccines, and represents naturally-reared sheepdogs in many forums in many ways. He "waves" to all his sheepdog pals and makes sure they know that other than chasing seagulls - his most favorite thing is playing with other sheepdogs! Judy & Mick |
Great to see a pic! It's awesome that Mick is involved in so many activities! The reason your avatar says "shaved" above it is because you are newer. The more you post it will change. Do you happen to have any video of all the agility and rally and freestyle?! |
Hey Judy - nice to see you and Mick drop in!!! I love your photos - now I can picture you guys!
The list looks interesting... I'll have to check it out soon. My avatar is Ollie, our 1st OES herding our sheep. Someday Chewie will be big enough to handle "the girls" ! Mick is handsome . |
Thanks Dawn - how fun to have your own sheep!
I noticed your cutie-pie watching TV. Mick is very "interactive" with the TV - his reaction is different depending upon the critters on the TV or the activity. HOW many people have sheepdogs that watch TV? I've never had a dog before watch TV - it isn't just the "lights and movement" - it is reacting to the expressions on the faces of dogs and other animals - what they are doing, he brings toys to certain dogs- chases small critters off the screen, etc. Just curious - I think probably this might have to go to a different "section" but thought I'd start here.
