I have been lurking around for a while. I have learned so much from reading all your posts and I think it is about time for me to come out and say hi! My baby's name is Clayden. As a matter of fact, I am not quite sure he is an OES or least OES mix or not. His pattern and his face looks like an OES but I think his size is too small to be an OES. I rescued him from a rescue group who pulled him out from a high kill shelter. He is about 6 months old. A very sweet little guy. He gets along very well with my other three rescued cats and my other two rescued dogs. OES or not, I love him dearly. I uploaded some pictures to the 1st puppy album. I hope it is ok for me to join even though Clayden might not be an OES. Clayden's mom |

Welcome! He's adorable and looks like he's fitting in just perfectly with the cat. Very cute! |
Thank you, all you sheepie moms and sheepie dads, for the warm welcome.
Clayden is not a purebred for sure. However, just the trace of the sheepie in him already made him cute as a button. I notice his bark is different from other dogs. It sounds like a seal And the way he sits down to curl up is very different too. It always looks like he is going to tip over when he puts his butts down because his two feets are sticking up in the air...looks more like falling on his butts than sitting down. All dogs are cute but sheepies way of cutiness is priceless. I can imagine how much you all are in love with your real sheepies! Clayden is a real sweetheart. He plays very rough with his two "sisters" - An one year old German Shepherd & Husky mix and an 9 mos old Golden Retriever & St Bernard mix. However, he is very calm and gentle around humans and the cats. I take him to work with me. I work in a Financial Planning Firm. My boss loves dogs so he let me bring Clayden with me to work. Clayden receives so much love and attention at work. He is very good at greeting clients. He would approach them calmly and nudge them with his nose for attention. He plays rough with his two "sisters" probably because he knows he is the youngest and the sisters will always let him get his way. When one of them is tired of Clayden's neverending energy, she would snare at him and he would instantly bounce off and look for another sister to harrass. Just when I thought he was getting spoiled by my two dogs, there was one day my boss took his 2 months old Golden Retriever to work. Clayden was very gentle with the puppy. He let the puppy steal his bone and he played chase with the puppy carefully, allowed the puppy jumping all over him I learned from this forum how important it is to brush them often and the advantages of starting it young. Although Clayden came to me shaved, I ordered a #1 System brush and have been brushing him daily. He enjoys it very much. Often this is a very good way to calm him down. When he plays too rough and the house is turning into a war zone (three dogs zooming around), I pick him up and lay him down on a doggy bed and start brushing him. He would calm down right that instance and falls asleep shortly... I guess I should stop bragging about my puppy but anyway, thanks for listening Clayden's mom (gigi) |
He is so adorable! I love his curly mop! |

Hi!
Greetings from Canada and welcome to the forum! We're a great group of people here and sheepie or not , doesn't matter one bit as many of us have numerous other pets too. I've very involved in rescue and have a whole housefull and love each equally although some have come from humble beginnings. I loved all your photos your pics are just heartwarming. Claydon and his siblings are really cute. Can't wait to hear more of his adventures. Marianne and the boys (Blue, Merlin, Panda) the girls , Daisy,LG, Asia aka Mama Kat, and Paris (the cats) Puff and Squeak (Bunny and Guniea pig) Dusty and Poof , foster boys |
Welcome, so glad you joined! Of course it's OK for you to join. Anyway he looks all Sheepie to me. He is just gorgeous. Are you sure he's not just small cause he's a puppy? Six months is very young wait until two years he might be huge. |
I know I am late with this (especially since I have already met Gigi and Clayden in person) but I also wanted to give a big welcome to Gigi and Clayden, who just happen to live in my town.
Woo hoo another dog for SheepieFest of the West!!! Still wondering how I missed this post |
