hi benji here
and feeling ill my vet has said hes growing so fast hes having growing pains and it makes him not eat and he is in pain,hes on pain meds again and antibiotics he usually bounces back in a couple of days . but it seams to be happeing every month he is growing like a weed and puts on aprox 10ibs a month hes 10 months now and still growing hes 76.5 ibs weight now just wondering if anyone has had this issue while they are growing up my vet says it may keep happening till he stopss growing ,i did take him for a long walk in the hillss the day it happened he was fine all day then in the evening he started feeeling bad and didnt want to move or eat just sleep so i took him to the vet and she felt his lower back etc and he felt pain when she pressed on certain areas that he is growing possibley my vet says its inflamed due to growing fast im sure the long walk possible didnt help some feed back needed if possible he was x rayed for limb problems before i picekd him up and was ok, benji and neville |

Bone, ligaments, tendons and muscles don't grow at the same rate. I imagine your boy is sore some days. Also remember teeth coming in can be painful too. Let him tell you what he can and can not do. Of course being a puppy, the brain isn't in gear either so he may forget. You remind him to temper his wild and crazy actions while he's undergoing these growth spurts.........  good luck. |
| Just be careful that he isn't growing too big, too fast... only you and your vet can determine if he's on track. It's just that this breed is known to have hip dysplasia. Around 10 months when she arrived, my sheepie rescue already had very bad hips. If it's at all preventable through careful feeding, nows the time to ask.

| i was worried for a while about hin almost took him back to the vet today then all of a sudden i mean like quickly he started getting all excited and
playing the pain just vanished and he started eating again hes been playing in the back garden and had his walk im amazed that the bounce back was like so fast there didnt seam to be any slow come back was kind of instant very strange .so i wanted to post everyone to let you all no hes doing excellent . and back to his normal self its been a hell of a year with benji .i hope im over the worst for now .  |
