No, but the Rotel dip is just Rotel and Velvetta. You could vary the dip a bit by browning up pork sausage along with ground beef. |
1 lb hamburger meat
1 Package sausage (I use Hot) 1 Large box Velveeta Cheese 1 Can Ro-tel tomatoes 1 Can Mushroom Soup Brown your hamburger meat and sausage together. Put Velveeta Cheese, Ro-tel and Soup in Crock Pot and add hamburger and sausage. Done. |
Sounds delicious! 2 questions:
What do you dip in it? Bread/pitas? What are Ro-tel tomatoes like? If they are a brand name, we probably don't have them here.... so would I use canned chopped tomatoes or crushed tomatoes??? Thanks! |
I always use Tortilla chips or "Fritos" for dipping. It is a really thick dip.
Ro-tel is a brand name. It is diced tomatoes with chilies in them. Here is their website: http://www.ro-tel.com/pages/index_flash.html |
You could use a jar of salsa instead....chunky style. |
Great, thanks! I highly doubt I'd be able to get Ro*Tel tomatoes here (without ordering from that website)... but thanks for the good substitution recommendation.
I do have an aunt in NC, though. Maybe next time she visits the good ol' north, I'll ask her to bring me some tomatoes! The website has some great recipes! |
