The loss never leaves but as you know, time dulls the pain. |
I am slowly learning that a Sheepie is with you for ever once you have loved him, now my beloved Shep has passed over. I hope your new sheepie blesses you with as many happy memories as your first.

Hi,
Just wanted to share my story with you and hopefully people never tire of me repeating it. When Shaggy passed which will be 3 years in March I heard about Panda through this forum. It was only a week after her visit to the Rainbow Bridge. Far too soon for me to even think of another, yet this boy desperately needed help asap. He was in Hong Kong and turned out Vancouver my city was the only alternative as it has a direct flight via the cities, as pets coming from other countries were not allowed layovers. I can't even imagine my life now without Panda, he has eased the pain of losing Shaggy. I will never forget her just as you Sheepdogrikki will never forget yours, as well as the other members won't forget that special one. Each is so unique and special and may we always remember them in our thoughts and our hearts. Marianne |
When I was in college, I met a guy with the cutest Sheepie. His poor mother had temporary custody of Maude (named by her first owner) and her St Bernanrd "sister" owed by the guy's sister.
We would come home from college and go to his parent's house so i could bathe and groom Maudie. Maude and the family really tolerated me well. Maude used to get her face frozen shut in the winter, dipping her face in the water. Knocking the bees off of the log in pond and biting them - how did she not become allergic to them? The time the "girls" ate the motorcycle - leaving only the metal frame and engine parts. Emptying the tool shed of rakes, hoes, bags of fertilizer - through the dog door. I married the guy for his dog. Even his family says so. Maudie was awsome around our kids. Little fingers poking her nose or pulling her fur just resulted in her walking off. She used to come lay down on the blanket next to the sleeping child, never lying on them. She was one of a kind. And I have missed her every day since she passed away due to kidney failure in 1981. |
What a truly wonderful story So you were blessed with the love fo a Sheepie Could it be time for another one ? |
It's five years for us too and your statement is so true. I hope your new sheepie continues to fill you up with love and you are continually comforted in your loss. |
Its always hearbreaking - i dread the day Ollie is taken from me, so I make the most of him, but I know that my life will never be complete without a sheepie in it. I don't know what it is about these dogs, they get right under your skin, thats my personal opinion - i have had other dogs, but Ollie boy is just something else. |
