I had always said when I was a little girl that some day I wanted to take in all the homeless dogs in the world, I would guess most of us said the same thing. Well get ready because these amazing people did just that !(well, not all the homeless dogs but a whole LOT ) http://gentlegiantsrescue.com/index.htm#home The site is kind of confusing but so worth the time. Enjoy, Antoinette |

Wow, 1200 dogs placed in a year. Sheeeeesh.
I'm not worthy! |
I remember seeing Burt and Tracy Ward on a TV show several years ago. Just listening to them speak about their rescues (all Great Danes at the time, I think) was amazing. |
I didn't read the site that carefully... when you said Burt Ward I thought: "No way!", but it's "Yes, Way!"
Robin (from Batman and Robin, the second half of the "Dynamic Duo") rescues dogs! Woo hoo! Atomic batteries to speed! Holy Great Dane, Batman, that's a lotta dogs! Very cool indeed. |
OMG! You are right Ron.
I had no idea. It is him . I Googled his name and there where pictures of him as ' Robin ' and pictures of him now with his family and Danes. I learn so much from this forum...LOL.... Antoinettte |
That is so amazing and fantastic. What big hearts that family has and what a good job they are doing. |
They had a story about them on Animal Planet several yrs ago. It was on the show Breed All About It, on the great dane show. It was incredible. If you get the show, try and catch it on reruns!
Oh, it also featured Greg Louganis, (the Olympic swimmer or diver, forgot which) on the same show. He has great danes too. |
That's truly wonderful! What fantastic work they are doing. Bravo!! |
Ward has been doing rescue for years and years, a while back he was featured in the Dogs In Canada magazine, it stated he had something like 52 great danes at the time. |
