We started feeding Lennon and Sofi LawnSaver pills to stop them from destroying our grass, but the vet said she advised against them because of the acidity they will add to their blood. What are your experiences with this products? Is it OK to continue using them, or there's a better alternative? I'd like to keep my grass too! Thanks! Saul. |

If the vet doesn't agree with them then I personally wouldn't give it to them....
Maybe you could train them to go in only one spot in your yard? Also, many people make a rocky area, with small round pebbles and train their dogs to go on that. It saves your lawn, and is easy to clean up. I would worry about giving a dog anything that affects the potency of their urine. If it does that it must affect their kidneys, a vital organ. It may also interfere with nutrient absorbtion, though I'm just guessing based on what it is supposed to do, I have actually never heard of it and don't know anything factual about it... |
I was bad and didn't even think to ask the vet before giving the Lawnsavers to Big Ben. He took them for a little while and we never noticed a difference in the grass and stopped them immediately. No need continue the pills if they weren't working. He didn't have any noticable health issues but he probably did not take them long enough to make a difference.
I have known people who made a rock area and it worked great. We never were able to train Ben (or our prior dog for that matter) to go on rocks. He's just so fussy about where he goes potty...although to us it just looks like he paces randomly until he's ready to go! Good luck! |
