My vet mentioned today that it works on the beard too. It makes sense of course, but I had never thought of it. Has anyone used it for that purpose? Anyone who has used it for tear staining, how well does it work? Do you have to faithfully apply it everyday? |
|
It works well stacey, I used it on my white headed sheepie that had no patches around the eyes. She had a bout of conjunctavitis and left the area stained. Still have the bottle so here is the instructions as per bottle.
Saturate small cotton wool swab with Diamond Eye and gently swab the stained area. Using a new clean saturated swab for each eye. In stubborn cases use 3 times daily for 1 week. Otherwise you can just use it once a day for a week if the staining is not too bad. Never really thought about on the beard, Interesting, I suppose it would work there as well..Still like the all systems stuff for goopy beards. |
What's the name of the All Systems goopy beard stuff? Does it wotk on front goopy legs? Sue |
I know this one! It's #1 All Systems Super Whitening Gel. It comes in a 8 oz tub for about $9 US. It works wonderful on beards (we took Lisa's suggestion too) and also says it works on tear and urine stains. I just got a 2nd tub to have on hand. |
It sure does sue, here is a link on the product. But it is not a one off miracle whitner. Has to be applied a few times as it is not a harsh product and does a gradual fade of the stains.

Okay...I'm confused Doesn't take much these days!
Diamond Eye that Willowsprite asked about is NOT the same as the Allsystems product, right? I also was recommeded the Diamond Eye product for tear stains so I was interested in the post... My pup is still really a pup and I need something sensitive to eye area so I was looking a the Diamond Eye products too...love to hear what others think and if anyone else tried them... Diane |
So which product is better?
Which removes more stain with less applications? Which is easier to use? |
I have only used the All Systems, not the Diamond Eye, so I can't compare the 2. The gel was very gentle on Chewie's puppy skin. It does a good job, so I haven't tried anything else. |
I went out and bought the diamond eye today. Tried it and didn't do much. Maybe I applied it incorrectly...I soaked the cotton ball and applied but it looked like it was too "soapy" to me. I also tried to rinse with a water soaked cotton ball...still have the stains...although the rest of his face looks nice and white! Probably ahve to use it a few times for best results...will let you know.. |
Ashley it takes a good week to fade the tear stains. Applying 3 times a day if the stains are dark ones. It is a gentle fade too, you also sound like you soaked too much onto the cotton wool swab. You only need a tiny squirt onto the swab.
Stacey the Gel is better for bigger areas. I dip a toothbrush into it, apply to a groomed beard, then let them sit of the grooming table for 10-15 minutes while it activates. Then just rinse off and dry or rinse off and then use a whitening shampoo if you need to do the rest of the whites. About 3 applications before you start to see a difference. The diamond eye is only a small bottle and I think you would be using heaps onto a swab to do bigger areas. And the fact it is not washed out, I don't know how it would re-act with the coat on a bigger area if left on after a week of swabbing that area a few times a day. |
Oh, thanks Liseos...you are probably right. Too much on the cotton ball. It said "saturate" so I made sure I did that
I also didn't realize I should do it three times a day...thanks! |
Where is a place to purchase the #1 all whitening system gel? |
I got the 1st stuff online through the PetEdge catalog. www.petedge.com
and the 2nd tub at a pet supply store that has a lot of show-type items. Cost was similar for both. |
Thanks for the info I will be ordering some. |
