Loki's first day
Due to popular DEMAND  i am posting a welcome home in depth look at the first days home of Loki the sheepie.
Yesterday was his first full day with us, and he had a blast! He chased the kitties and barked at them, they don't really seem to care about him.  He also has this funny habit of teaching my kids not to run. Every time they do, he chases them down.
He loves his mommy   every time someone scares him or when he wants some lovin, he comes racing to mommy to sit in her lap and give lots of kisses. I have been giving him treats when he goes potty outside. He already is starting to come to me whenever he "goes" outside. Although, he seems to like the treats that are already here..  cat poop. YUCK!!!!!! I have to make sure he gets treats to come to me and stay away from there. Bleck! He's starting to forget about the cat poop.
He follows me everywhere, well, follows then darts in front of my feet, then stops, then goes between my legs, repeat. He follows everyone, but if I get up and he is following someone else, he runs back to me and does the above.  But I don't mind. He is so adorable. I have to make sure i don't wear any nice pants, because he loves to grab pant legs and shoes. He also likes to chew on my table, knobs, cords, sipy cups, paper,towels, the couch, among other things. . I am trying to teach him OUT so that he will drop whatever isnt supposed to be chewed on. (I love treats!)
He has this toy he likes to play tug with, and when he is loosing, he will make this weird Oooh Oooh I'm hurt noise. but stops when he figures out I'm not letting him win and he starts to do the pull growl thing. I was lauging so hard!!
He doesn't like to be in a different room from his people and when he thinks we are going to leave he cries and cries. If it was warmer, I woud take him with us. He definitely would like a playdate! He is so full of energy! Ok I think this is pretty long and I hope pretty detailed.  I will have pics today hopefully, so keep checking!! |

Gosh that brings so many memories back. The herding your kids when they run probably won't ever stop. The girls I'm babysitting every tues, wed, and thurs get so confused when they get nipped for running. 
It sounds like he has so much personality! I'm so jealous that he loves mommy, since we got a female who loves daddy!!!! I'm glad you have him to love on!!!
I'm also glad that the potty + treat thing seems to be working out for you guys! Thanks for the first of I hope many more details to come about your days with Loki!!! How many more rounds of shots does he need before he can go to parks and stuff? I don't recall how old he is... |
It sounds like your having a blast! I would imagine that with 2 little human kiddos your house is already fairly baby/puppy proofed? One of the best things Bert did for me was teaching my husband NOT to leave his stuff laying around were the pup could reach it! It really sounds like youve bonded very quickly too...thats awesome! (like ms. j, I've also had to deal with the "mommy's chopped liver" thing ) Let's arrange that play-date for sometime soon, although ms. J's question about his shots is a good point...Alaska's 1st Sheepie-fest, here we come!!!  |

There was another post recently about a pup liking the cat poop, I think they called it "almond rocca" . I don't know why some dogs (most?) are so drawn to eating poop but it seems inevitable, EWWWWWWW
