I am in Oklahoma, which is a long ways away, but if no one else comes forward, I would watch her for you. I am sorry you are in such an awful situation. I commend you for saying selling is not an option. I posted about 2 OES's needing a home a couple of days ago because the owner is moving and doesn't want the hassle of taking them with her. I am scared that she will give up trying to find a home and put them in a shelter. I am staying in contact with her and if all else fails we might have 2 more OES's if it is necessary. I think the ages of 8 and 9 year old will keep them from being adopted. I am just rambling on now.
I hope something works out soon and I will keep you in my thoughts. Good luck to you. Stormi |
Tough situation! I feel for you! YOu should contact the OES Rescue in your area and see if they can find a long term foster placement for your sheepie! We've done that here in New England and there are wonderful loving people who are willing to do this. It is not easy to find - but it's worth a try!
Good Luck! Kristen |
I live in a suburb of Chicago, so I'm sort of near you. A girl I work with boards dogs long term in her home and shes absolutely fantastic with them. I'm not exactly sure what the rate is, but if youre willing to spend some money on this I can get you some contact information. |
Kerrie, I e-mailed you. The Wisconsin rescue has someone who can probably foster your sheepie til you move. The contact info is in the e-mail. Paula |
Thank you, everyone! I am so grateful for the response for help I have gotten. I may have someone in my area that can watch her, I will meet her tomorrow and see if she will be able to keep her for me. I can't tell you what a relief it is, and I want all of you who responded to know how much I appreciated your help and concern. I have been an emotional nerve bag since I found out I could not bring her with me, but I know shw will be back with my family soon. I am so glad I found this site, this is a very special oes community, and a special thanks to Ron for putting this website together. I will keep you all posted on how she is doing. |
Kerrie,
Make sure you have all of your bases covered. Maybe someone involved with this type of thing could give you some pointers on any legal matters involved and what steps you should be taking place to ensure that when the time comes to take back your dog - there won't be any problems. I wish you the best! Kristen |
Kerrie- Did you get everything all worked out for your sheepie? I sure hope so. I've been wondering how it all worked out. |
Vivi is in a very good foster home (Thank you Paula!) in Madison, WI. She was staying at a home here in town, but that turned out to be a bad situation for her, she was outdoors during the day and night, and with another dog that would not leave her alone. After two days, we brought her back, she slept most of the time, she was exhausted, and we could not let her go back there. It was unfortunate because the woman keeping her at the time is a real sweet person and she was worried about my pup and her dog, he is a neutered huskey, but huskies are very hiper dogs. So through Wisconsin rescue I found a woman who has two sheepies who said she would take Vivi in. I am happy to report she is doing fine and having a blast with the other sheepies. We are going up to Madison this weekend to visit her, and I can't wait to get her back. But I thank you all for your concern. She is doing just fine. |
Oh Kerrie, I am so glad you found a foster home. I will let Toni (the lady who actually got in touch with the WI rescue) know that everything worked out fine. Paula O. |
