I've read reviews, and actually have one here that we will be trying out. Just wondering if anyone has had one,has one and what they think of it...both good and bad. Much appreciated! |

Are you comparing it to another camera? |
We are in the market for a new digital camera.
I love the one I already have, and I guess it was top of the line 4 years ago, so it is difficult to compare. Features we want: Small, good in low light, fast shutter speed, lithium battery, prefer a docking station, good zoom, with small movie capabilites, manual over-rides. We tried the Panasonic last nite and although the zoom is amazing, we can't get past the slow shutter speed....sigh..plus the lens cap is removable, which is kind of scary... Don has brought a few home for us to try since before Christmas, and nothing seems to be the right fit.. |
I have always preferred to go with the guys who have been making cameras for a long time. The dependability and service are there, which is very important to me. I always have my camera cleaned after going to the beach or on a cruise. It's easier to get them serviced when they have been around a longtime.
We currently have Canon, Nikon, Minolta and Kodak cameras. Do you want an SLR or a point-and-shoot? Price range? I have both a 35mm and a digital Rebel that I love. I like the flexibility of being able to adjust setting or take a quick automatic settings shot. Though some hate messing with changing the lens, I manage to get by with just a couple of lens. My daughter has a point-and-shoot that suits her needs and does a pretty good job. Be sure you back up the pictures though. I have known many a person who have failed to back them up and lost many a precious photo. |

I like the flexibility of being able to adjust setting or take a quick automatic settings shot. I find that even the big names have some good years and some not-so-good years, so even model is important. We are looking for a point and shoot, with at least a couple manual settings to play with. Price range....$200 to $300, I guess? Once we narrow it down to a few selections we will see what is on sale, and where. |
