Walter's no good very bad haircut.

Walter got a haircut today. I got a call a few hours after I dropped him off from the groomer telling me that Walter was a big dog with no manners, he had bit her, knocked over her grooming table trying to get to another dog, and had diarrhea in his crate (poor baby). I felt bad for both of them so I picked him up before she had a chance to touch up the haircut. So needless to say he looks like a big dork, but the more I see it the more I like it. AND he fits in his shirts now so we have been playing dress up all day.

Here he is all tuckered out from the long day...

Shoot I posted this in the wrong section, could someone kindly move it for me?
I think the haircut fits...Walter is not conventional...and neither is his haircut. And I'm sure he is also glad it is easier to play dress-up now. 8)
Aweee.... he so looks like he had a long day, but definitely the normal sophisticated Walter. He always comes off as a grown up to me :D

YAY for clothes!!!
Oooh poor baby, he has had a day of it. He must of been so upset at the situation in the grooming parlour to get the diarrhea as well. Sounds like you might be better off trying somewhere else. Do you have mobile grooming vans that come to your house? Always less stressful for them as they are not away from home and you can even reassure the dog while the groomer is working on them. Really you never know how the dog is doing when they are away in a salon for hours or how they are treated. I say not too good for your boy to be so stressed to nip, lunge and have diarrhea.

He does not look too bad, just trim the endy bits with some scissors yourself to tydy him up, most of the hard work has already been done.

Look forward to seeing Walter in his shirts.
Is it just me or does Walter look like an old English gentleman? All he needs is the pipe and dressing gown! lol

It looks like he is smurking and ready to say "That groomer lead me quite the chase...but I foiled her in the end!"

I say...if he was that upset....that is NOT the place to take him. Bit her! Maybe she needed a good biting! lol As for knocking over the table...we all know he was just trying to tell the other dog about oes.org and she was restraining him!
Poor Walter, he does look stressed out.
Sorry he had such an awful time. :(
8) That poor sheepie boy looks exhausted. I hope he got his well deserved nap. (it takes alot out of a :hearts: sheepie to cause all that kayos)
Poor Walter. BAD GROOMER....It looks like he might have some razor burn on his chest and front legs too.
He does look very distinguished!
He's cute no matter what

    He is cute!!! Poor boy ...he did not have fun at the groomers!!!
Heather , I think Harley & Walter should get together. They can discuss clothing options ( sweats ,suit ,jeens ect...) . :P

That poor boy. What a day. He looks very tired, but I think he still looks very handsome. :hearts:

Sending kisses to the handsome boy.....

8) Poor Walter! Think another groomer is a good idea. Walter probably bit her in self defense! He looks like he could use a hug and a nap, poor guy. Like his hair do, very English looking :P Good boy Walter, Bad Groomer!!!!

Do you want it moved to grooming?
Poor Walter :( Tasker sends his hugs!!!!

I suggest you get your own set of clippers and keep Wlater home where he wants to be.!
Haha I have been putting shirts on him all day. I actually think he likes them. I will have to post pictures of him in his plaid sweater, he looks very handsome and sophisticated!

Val- I was going to say just move it to pictures, but if it doesnt matter you can leave it here. whatever is easier!
ah poor Walter, I'd bite too if the hairdresser gave me razor burn like they did on his front legs
Poor Walter he looks sooooooo stressed out, but I think with a hat and pipe he would look very distinguished or drunk maybe
Merlin wants to tell Lil Walty that he can relate to the bad hair cuts and tells his brother in grime not to worry - he still looks good!

cough ...should mention Merlin's mom tried to cut his hair herself for the first time instead of the groomer. Oh sheesh!

Merlin sends sloppy kisses and high paws to Lil Walty, Blue and Panda are sending their greetings too.

Hugs to Lil Walty for his no good bad terrible day.

Poor Walter!! He looks SO unhappy! And from the looks of the bottom of his chest and the top of his legs, that groomer got a little TOO close for comfort! No wonder he bit her! Is she Walter's normal groomer? I don't think I'd take him back to her!!
Poor Walter. Sounds like he didn't enjoy his grooming experience at all!!

I've never done the mobile grooming option. We have several in this area. Perhaps, I will consider it next time. :?

Beau & Gen went last Friday for their haircuts. I dropped them off at 8:30 a.m. and they called me at 4:00 p.m. saying Beau had had diarrhea and they had to bathe him three times. Beau has not had diarrhea since he was four months old and I gave him a spoonful of yogurt! So, I knew my poor boy must be stressed out.

He seemed happy enough when I did finally get to pick them up (6:30 p.m.) and he did not have any problem since then. I don't think they take them out during the day at all. They are not used to going ALL DAY without a potty break. I guess I should've specified that they need to be walked, but I just thought that was common sense. Guess not. :twitch:

Not sure if we're going back there or not. :?
Oh, Heather! Poor Walter! WHERE DID YOU TAKE HIM??? 8O 8O 8O I sure as heck hope it wasn't my groomer. Really, you need to take him there. They will be wonderful to him..especially if you tell them I send you :D
Walter doesn't have a regular groomer, he has been asked not to come back to the 4 previous places I have taken him. This was his 3rd time at this place (in the past 3 years) and they have always done a pretty good job. I think the razor burn is because he was matted very close to his skin. I will not be taking him to anymore groomers. I have decided to get some clippers and maybe a table and start doing this myself, it is going to be really hard but with all the wonderful tutorials on here I know I can do it.

Stacy- I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the groomer you told me to go to, and then my best friend told me that I have to go to her old groomer, which was the same one! So if I have to take him anywhere again I will take him there for sure.

Heather, getting clippers and doing it yourself will probably work very well for Walter. He will be at home and a lot calmer, no reason for him to stress out and no other dogs to bother him.

I've been grooming my dogs for a year and a half now. It is easy. The hardest part is getting them onto the table.
My advice is that you get yourself a GOOD pair of clippers (Wahl or Anids) they will make the job so much easier. I would also recommend that when you first start clipping DON'T let his hair get very long, the longer the coat the more difficult. That might mean that the first couple times you clip him you do it before you really thinbk he needs it, you will be suprised how easy it is. Then once you are comfortable clipping him you can wait longer in between.

At least that is how it worked well for me.
The nice thing about doing it at home too is that if he starts to stress out you can take a break for a couple hours...or even start back up the next day. As long as you don't mind the funky haircut :D

The first time I clipped Tasker it took me FOUR DAYS

Now we can do it in about 2 hours!!

I remember someone posted funny pictures of their dog with various funny haircuts on the way to a shave down...we need pictures of Walter with experimental haircuts!!! :go:
Heather, even if Walter's mats were close to the skin there is no reason they should have given him razor burn. I am no expert in grooming but I do know how to shave them  Even with their mats last spring, I managed to clip them and no one had razor burn. The tip is if their fur is longer you may have to scissor them before using the clippers, that is what I had to do.
I must confess that I have occassionally given Tasker a burn........ my experience is that using a good blade coolant solvest he problem.
