Well, sure enough, Pirate's started to do it too! However, at 65 pounds, he looks a bit like a deranged bunny (can we say "Harvey"?). My question: Is this just a dog thing in general or has he picked it up from see Molly doing it? I swear, my neighbors must think my dogs are on drugs!!!!!! |

I say it is a dog thing, but they do pick things up from other dogs. My Maggie likes to lay on her back with all four up in the air and wiggle to scratch her back. She looks pretty cute doing it, but she does not have really long legs. Puddy on the other hand, has learned to do this from her. Talking about hilarious, it is really a sight to behold. |
hehe!!!my collie just started doing something like this.after going potty he rubs his feet and kicks up the grass...funny thing he just started this when we got our baby sheepie |
Dancer does that too... I think I read somewhere that they have scent glands between their toes and kicking up the grass like that leaves their scent behind, so I think it is a territorial thing. |
We like to refer to this behavior as "Butt Contractions" in our family! My sister's basset hound, Mosi, has the best routine!
