I have to tell you I am a perfectionest and this was not doing the job I would have done. BUT..When I wash the floor it takes me two hours(really) and I was sitting watching a football game and something else was making my floor look halfway decent. Not so bad after all.... Pam aka Simon's Mom |

Way to go Scooba! LOL
We need pictures! Before and after! |
I was looking at one of those in the store this weekend, wondering if they work. You will have to keep us posted!!!!!!!!!! |
Yes, definitely keep us posted on this.
We got my mom a roomba for Christmas last year, and I think she likes it. It does require frequent emptying and filter cleaning (mostly b/c of the sheepy hair) and of course -- like you said about the scooba -- it's not as good as you would do yourself, but it is good for in between cleanings. Anyway, her house is all hardwood and tile, so I am wondering if a scooba would be good for her too. So let us know if you still like it after a few months! |
Great story of getting it to work... LOL
I always wondered if those things would really actually get anything clean.... How noisy is it? |
How does Simon like it? I always think the dogs would see it as a great toy |
I would be satisfied with half done, I just hate to clean the floor |
I LOVE my Roomba! When I moved into my new house last year, the entire surrounding area was a construction site. So not only did I have 16 paws and 6 feet dragging yuck in the house, the dust from construction flew through the house unabated. I swept twice a day and couldn't keep up.
I always eschewed the Roomba as a gadget. Out of desperation, I began researching the little guy and found it had received consistently high reviews for performance. I promptly ran a search on Shopzilla and bought one for a very good price. That little gadget saved a small part of my sanity. I ran it at least once a day, twice if it was windy. It won't leave the floor perfect, but it does a great job inbetween general cleaning! I send it under the beds a couple times a month to keep the Kitty tumbleweeds on the carpet under control. |
Perhaps we need to get a Scooba for Darcy... |
I LOVE my Roomba. I have had mine for three years as of this Christmas. Was a present from my parents (a hint about my housekeeping skills, perhaps????) It does not clean like I would (actually my housekeeper), but it is great for those in between vacuums. My only problem is both my Aby cat and Dudley (OES) hate the thing. Nutty, my aby, thinks its a giant mouse and needs to be stalked and Dudley thinks it needs to be herded. I have to run it when these guys are banished to other parts of the house, otherwise my Roomba is fair game. Everyone with animals should have one.

No, I think part of Darcy's disorder...I mean satisfaction...comes from cleaning things herself... |

Cool. We got a roomba when they first came out and haven't been too impressed. Our particular one has to be charged the entire night and then only holds the charge to do one room. Hope the latest technology works better. |
