I'll get Mo's pixs up soon. |

LOL... that's too funny... snowball dog LOL Cute pic |
This is Simone......wet and well, impacted. I have another pix on my camera below showing what happened to her south end.......
Took awhile to break apart all those snowballs so she could come in and dry out. Jack the big sheepdog didn't have near the problem as MO, but then he's taller and cleared the snow better than Simone. |
I have seen sheepies with snow balls on them before but Simone takes the cake!
I used to use a blow dryer to try to help melt them off but a friend told me she just put her golden retreiver into the bathtub and they came right off. I guess they are all wet anyway! |
Actually they aren't all wet. That surprised me. I considered the tub but that saturates the fur/hair (whatever sheepdogs have). While she was wet, the undercoat wasn't saturated. She dried (somewhat) inside......to where she was ready to go back outside again. The second (third, fourth, etc) time she didn't get the balls. Wondering if the damp hair repelled the second onslaught.
Snow consistency has changed and not sticking on her at all now. Veeerrrry strange. |
Love the snow dingleberries!
We finally transitioned over to snow after 3 days of nonstop rain. I was so jealous that NM was getting snow. This weather is weird! Although if 3 days of rain WAS snow, we would have been snowed in worse than CO! Yay for snow. The mud was driving me insane!!! |
OH MY
Well, I'd much rather deal with snow dingleberries than THE OTHER kind! |

LMAO Wow Susan, those are some serious snow balls! It's funny how your dogs don't seem to mind them. |
What great pics!!! |
Oh WOW! I'm glad you shared those with us!! |
I had no idea they could stick like that. I agree they look like they didn't mind at all.
Oh my gosh. We have more snow now than I know what to do with. The snow is plowed so high that it reaches under our neighbor's balcony!!!!!!!! No way am I letting Yuki join in any snowball fight with the kids now. It seems like it would be a lot of work to get off! |
Susan, I'll GLADLY send you some of this mess here!

Snow consistency has changed and not sticking on her at all now. Veeerrrry strange. I noticed the same thing here. The first dry snow had Maggie covered in snowballs but now that the snow is wetter, it is not sticking as much at all. Great pictures! |
Great pictures, and although in her younger days, Drez loved nothing more than to romp and lay in the snow, I'm glad it's you and not us this time!!
Very strange weather. Still in the mid-to-upper 40s around here, and our grass is still even a little green! Go figure! |
HA HA HA I have never seen snow like that stuck to a dog, they look like soft cotton wool balls you have stuck on them LOL. (yes I know it rarely snows in OZ)
Hey hairy mobile big snowman, good picture for next christmas , all they need is a pipe, hat and carrot for there noses. Amazing pictures |
Did it cause their hair to get really tangled too? |
Simon I love your knobbly white boots |
Haaa I broke out into laughter when I saw these photos!!
Just love the pics!!! You brought back many happy memories for me when Shaggy looked like this too after a rare snowfall. Haven't seen Merlin or Panda like that as the last snowfall had just powdery stuff. I used to stick her in the bathroom for a few mins to let them melt off - then she was good to go again. LOL Thanks so much for posting these and making my day. Marianne and the boys |
Hilarious pictures! I'm so jealous of your snow. I want some! All we got out of that storm was rain. |
After our first and only snow fall so far this year, both my dogs got snowballed but nothing quite as bad as yours. Nothing makes a mess as bad as snowball pulling to help the dogs get them off. Pam aka Simon's Mom |
I love the pictures!! I am still looking for a body type suit to stick on Guinness to stop the snow balling!! Everything I find will fit a Jack Russell!! |
After getting the balls off Simone, I considered wrapping her in Saran wrap to repel future snowballs. Fortunately they didn't form up.
Did she tangle? She was already tangled! No difference. She has the strangest hair........undercoat is thin, the hair wants to naturally cord like Kommondor. I can brush her out and she's a mess within a hour or two. So I must make an effort to keep her constantly in shorter hair. Also hair difference might be a factor too. Why did Jack not ball up, but MO did? Harry not at all either. Fox didn't but Glacier did? Hair length? Hair age? Dirt in fur? They were all cavorting in the snow but only MO and Glacier collected samples? Snow flakes go through many different stages, wonder what it is about that one stage that makes them so sticky to dog hair? I see a Master's thesis...... |
Barb Lamb of Shaggylamb OES has afantastic business for doggie boots and coats. She really does have a snowsuit too.

I've always wanted to spray their feet with Pam Works for the shovel. |

LMAO |
HAHAHA. I've never seen snowballs on a dog before. So cute. Looks like they had a lot of fun. |
Yes, those are cute foul weather outfits. I've considered it.
Naw, I just spray the dog with Pam.......butter, olive oil, or original? Several guys don't want to poop in the snow so poop on the driveway instead. Well, it does make it easier to collect. Desert dogs. s. |
