We've been having fairly good luck with potty training- he gets it about 50% of the time- not sure if that's because we've been paying attnention or he gets it a bit. Have been taking him to one area in the yard, and that seems to work. One thing- he doesn't seem to like the treats I bought for him and was going to the store today to try something else? Any suggestions? The one I got was ProTreat beef liver treats- they don't seem soft enough for him. Dickens is vey social and loves playing with the kids. Nips a bit with the 5 year old but just playful. The breeder included a note from Santa Claus, and we ended up giving Dockens to the kids that afternoon. We told Kaden (the 5 year old) that Santa brought him early becasue it was too cold for a puppy to ride in the sliegh at night. He was suitably impressed. So far so good! [/img] |

Congrats!! Woohoo!!
As far as treats go, I'd stick with either just using his puppy kibble or something very bland, like the small plain milkbone treats. Puppies have a more sensitive digestive system and just like human babies, new foods and treats need to be introduced slowly. |
Stacey is right, just little pieces of kibble work great for treats fro a pup.
CAN'T WAIT TO see the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome home Dickens |
Welcome home Dickens!
We used the Recipe treats you can get at the grocery store, they are small and in fun flavors like liver and cheese. Milk bones are a great suggestion, they have puppy size treats to. |
Thanks- I'll try that.
