Vomiting

Hello everyone! I am new to this whole website thing. We just picked up Harley about 2 weeks ago. She is absolutely adorable and we love her so much! One problem, is she has been vomiting undigested food. We talked to the vet about it, and we have been slowing her eating down quite a bit which is helping. However, she still thows up when she is put in her kennel to sleep at night. It isn't every night, but occassionally I will wake up and find she has thrown up sometime during the night. She whines quite a bit in her kennel, so I am not sure if she is just getting that upset with being in her kennel, that she acutally throws up.....

Has anyone else dealt with this? I am going to call the vets office next week and talk to them as well.

Could be worms... a severe case of them will make pups vomit.
We'll drop off a poop sample on Tuesday. The breeder said she had her de-wormed 3 times prior to us picking her up. Is it still possible for her to have worms?
Yes definitely still possible...
Your first stop needs to be the Vet.

When Tasker was young he would eat so fast that he would swallow large amounts of air. He would then vomit undigested food. We helped the problem by (on the recommendation of out Vet) elevating his feeding bowl. I don't know why but when they don't lean over to eat apparently they swallow less air.

I took one of those plastic storage crates, flipped it over and put his bowl on that.
I think it is because of the whining in the Kennel she is gulping air and it is bringing up unidgested food. It happens on occassions. The other thing is when she is ready to go into the Kennel for the night, make sure she is not Hyped Up from playing that she goes into bed when she is relaxed and quiet. That will help too. 8)

What time do you feed her, her last meal before putting her to bed?

The other thing is before and after a meal to keep them quiet. Make sure she has not charged around playing prior to feeding her and again after she is fed for a good hour or so. That way you run less risk of her throwing up & later in life you run less risk of them bloating too.

Congratulations too on your little girl. I am sure she will settle down, maybe just over excited pupper with bundles of energy and still settling in for you.
