I am wondering if it has something to do with the heat and a little less exercise because of it. Thanks in advance. |

El Gato, yes I think it is due too the change in temp.Just like people when the heat hits the food gets not as appealing.I know for me in the summer Im not even thinking about food.Winter Im eating all the time . So I wouldnt worry,as long as he is drinking plenty of water.Does he like his treats still? |
Max has been the same way. He will go 2-3 days with barely eating. At first I was concerned, but after some time he eats again. This past weekend I bought some wet food to mix and he eats that right up. so that may help. |
Thanks all. He still loves his treats! And ice cubes. If he only knew it was water! |
Try reducing the food amount in summer. Also change time of day he eats.....assuming you are not free feeding. The morning feed here is the usual amount, but the late afternoon feed is more a snack.
In winter I up their feed about a half cup if they will be spending more time outside in the cold. The trick is to remember to reduce back in summer or else you end up with a roly-poly sheepdog. bunnyboss |
my pup skips out on most of his meal every so often, but he is plenty chubby and pooping alot, i can only assume he's eating enough to make up for what's left in the bowl. |
