I would like to introduce myself(as you will probably see me on here begging for help a lot). My name is Courtney and I live in the northern panhandle of WV. My hubby and I have 3 great kids(10,7, and 4), 2 cats, and will hopefully be adding one sweet little OES male puppy to the mix on the 29th. I look forward to chatting with all of you. Happy Holidays! |

Welcome Courtney |
welcome and so glad you did your home work about the breed . |
Welcome Courtney! Can't wait to hear all about your puppy. |
Welcome to the forum and look forward to hearing about your pup. |
Thank You for the welcoming responses. We have not decided on a name yet. The children are leaning towards Sullivan with "Sully" as a nickname. I love it, but we were thinking that maybe we should go with tradition. The father's family has names that are from the book "To Kill A Mockingbird" , such as Atticus, Scout, Harper, etc. Any opinions? |
Welcome to the forum, Courtney!
My dog is Mulligan, and his nickname is Mullie so you won't be breaking with tradition to have a Sullivan. We can adopt each other's babies and then we'll have Irish Old English cousins! |
Hi courtney, welcome and greetings from Australia, best wishes also with your new addition, the wait is the worst part till they come home. |
Welcome. |
I like the name Sullivan too.
Where are you located Courtney? |
Hi Tammy. I am in Cameron, WV. I live in the northern panhandle of the state so I am 30 minutes from both PA and OH |
Welcome! I can't to see pics and hear more about your puppy . |
Welcome. You must be so excited about your new puppy. |
One week from today Courtney!! The countdown begins!!
Seven days til Sullivan! |
I know-I am so anxious. I feel like I am expecting a child Hopefully, both vets give him the thumbs upnext week. We have been shopping like crazy-nothing like adding an expensive little puppy to the family around the holidays!!! |
Believe me I know!! My boy Beaureguard was a Christmas arrival too. I don't remember ever being so excited. I think the last few days I counted down the hours & minutes. |
Ooh, you must be so excited! Clyde came a few days after Christmas too and although he was the best gift we could ask for, one thing that stinks about a winter pup is the housetraining. Psych yourself up for hanging outside in the cold while your little monster is much more interested in biting your pant legs and chewing the leash then going to the bathroom!
It's all worth it though. I can't wait to see pictures and I really like the name. In fact I think I like Sully on its own! |
Funny you should bring that up, Jill. I was thinking about that last night when we were out for last call. I remember standing outside freezing my tush off while he played. I thought to myself last night that if I ever do decide to get another dog as a puppy, it will definitely NOT be during the winter.
And, Courtney, a word to the wise, choose an outfit, pants, shirt, coat, etc and wear that same thing everytime you go out with him. Otherwise, you'll end up like me with holes in every pair of winter pants you own. The nipping and those sharp little puppy teeth will amaze you how fast they put holes in your socks & pants. |
Welcome! Hurray for the new puppy! Enjoy and post pictures soon! |
