Thanks for posting! He looks like he could really use some love -- and give plenty in return too. I hope a great home finds him. . . |
He looks like he will be a very handsom boy in a few months. Wish I lived closer. Hope he finds a nice warm, loving home for x-mas. |
What a sweetie I hope someone will adopt him soon |
I totally want him!! He and Monty would have so much fun together...he even reminds me of Monty when I first got him and all his skin problems...
Maybe I will take a drive this weekend... |
Hope he finds a great home and good luck and wishes |
Is there anyone that lives close to where Steve is? Please contact me if you do and if you could possibly go visit him. Just to get a general feeling about him. |
I live about an hour away...I am thinking of taking a drive this weekend... |
I emailed them this morning to see if he is still there. Are you interested in him? |
I just got a reply about Steve and they said he was adopted last night. |
Poop I wanted to go get him...oh well...I am happy too. |
Steve is still on the petfinder and now has a don't like cats symbol . I wounder if he was brought back . I will call this morning to see if he is back. |
I called and Steve has been returned to the shelter. The people that adopted him have cats and they found out that he does not like them and chases them. He is a big boy but is very thin and only weights about 50lbs now. Is there anyone that could go and check him out for me? It is about 7 to 8 hour drive from where I live. He really need to get in a warm home. |
I am trying to arrange a trip to see him this weekend - Saturday most likely. However, my parents are driving home tomorrow from Florida, and are intereste d. Maybe I could convince them to swing by on their way in... |
I have an OES-experienced family without cats in northern Indiana interested in Steve. They recently lost their sheepie to thyroid cancer.
Keep your fingers and paws crossed for Steve! |
Unfortunately, the family in Indiana decided on another rescue dog.
I did get a reply back from Becky at the shelter saying that yes, Steve did terrorize cats and had been returned by his adoptive family. Other than that, he's a sweetie. Hoffma, do you still want to check him out??? |
Still planning on making a trip this weekend, possibly having my parents look at him tomorrow afternoon.
I will not be able to keep him, however, I am hoping to get him out of there and foster him in the meantime, or find someone who could foster him. We'll see what happens. I will know more tomorrow - my parents are driving back from Florida and are going to swing by and see him. I spoke to them about fostering as they are weary to take him home because of their current sheepie, Rosie. They feel that by coming back from vacation with another dog, Rosie might not like it. I'm very positive about this. If no one adopts him within the next day, I think I will just take him home with me - This could get interesting... |
Well I am sorry to say that about five thousand things got in my way over the weekend and I was unable to visit Steve. However, I have spoken with Becky and another woman there who say nothing but great things about him.
The home I had lined up for him fell through. I can't afford two dogs right now or he would be mine. My heart is so breaking. Is there anyone who can give this guy a home? Or foster? I will help to transport him. He sounds like such a sweety...the family who had to return him (he is not a cat kind of dog) was so sad to give him back. I do plan on making a trip to see him this weekend and nothing is going to get in my way this time. Thank goodness those holidays are over!! |
Do you know what day you would be going to see him? Let me know as soon as you do please. I would like all the details on him. |
Any updates on Steve???? |
I was told today that there are three approved adoption applications for Steve |
Update:
Steve was sprung today from the Humane Society and is with us, happily stealing all of Nelson's belongings. (still damp from his bath but looking pretty happy) |
Yea for Nita, Nelson and Steve. His name cracks me up as that's my hubby's name |
Aw, shucks!:oops: I just bailed Steve out and will keep him temporarily. He has a chance now because of several people, namely Belinda of TOES, Bridget (hoffma), Candace (Avalasmom) and Nancy (nahakala).
Special thanks to the great people at the Clinton County Humane Society, especially Becky. Without them, Steve would have been euthanized at the local pound. |
How nice of Nelson to share his bed and toys |
Yay Nita for springing Steve!! |
That's great news Nita! He's such a cool looking sheepie... he just has that look that says "lots of character" I know you'll find the perfect family for him. Thanks for helping him.
Jaci |
He looks like quite the guy, Nita! How he did not get plucked up out of the shelter before now I have no idea! You'd think he's a been adopted out the first day!
Good for you for taking him in! Now to find him a great home to love him!! (Without cats, right? ) |
He's adorable, I'm sure he'll find a home in no time! |
Great job!
He is a good looking boy. He looks very pleased with himself. |
What a sweet looking guy And what a wonderful person you are for springing him out |
