2 days ago, I mailed my mom her christmas gift fed ex...or so i thought.... today, fedex shows up with the same package...I had addressed it back to the showroom....I didnt write her address but the stores.... D'OH |

at least you got your package back!!! My mom sent a package last monday priority mail, and it still hasn't gotten here. I've never had a priority mail box take longer than 4 days here. So it's been almost 2 weeks! I sent 3 boxes to her 4 days later, she got them already. She said what's inside is very expensive plus the $64 she paid in shipping. I feel so bad for her. I don't care what's inside, but I feel bad that my mom can't sleep thinking about this, and the thought lil J may not get anything from her for Christmas. I told her ...this may make her learn her lesson since she never thought it was important to use insurance!!! |
| One year I shipped one package to my sister in law and she got two - both with the same mailing label. Obviously the Mailbox place I go printed my label off twice and stuck it on another box. We brought the package back from NJ and back to the Mailbox place but there was no way to track the original sender. So now I NEVER leave until the label and postage are on the box. |

Next time maybe she should ship expensive items via the Post Office's REGISTERED MAIL. Insurance is very cheap for increased amounts. Regular mail insurance is $1.05 per $100, in REGISTERED MAIL the insurance is about $0.90 per $1,000. So a $1500 package, insurance would cost about $15.75 and Registered Mail would cost only $11.15. To that you need to add the shipping costs. The level of protection on Resgistered Mail is impressive. I brought a package expecting to ship it Priority with insurance, and was talked out of it by the clerk; it saved me a few dollars, but let me tel you what they did. First the covered every edge and seam of the box with brown tape, and at the edges stamped it with the cancellation stamp, so that any tampering would be evident. Then they took the box and put it into a burlap-type bag, and locked it into a cabinet. Then I'm told that at every step along the way, any postal employee who handles the package must sign for it. The recipient must sign for it as well. Clearly, all of this protection is why they can charge so little for the insurance. The important thing is that you are pretty well assured you're gonna get your package. According to the usps.com website, they will take packages with values up to $15,000,000 before you need to go through red tape!
I don't know about that... pretty tempting for a government employee to steal a $10,000,000 package... so what if I get fired, let them send the termination notice to me in Bolivia! LOL |
| Well, heres an update....I get a double D'OH for this ...sigh...
I told my mom...she laughed for all about a minute...then said..and I quote "You numb nut, that was from ME....do you not remember that you filled out your own delivery address label??" How was I to know that she would use the same size box....and why oh why did I not remember that i did that...so my Christmas gift from my mother is on the way BACK to Florida....wonder if fed ex will at least give me air miles. |

We supplied my dad with pre-return-addressed labels and FedEx boxes so he could send mail to us periodically, when we knew we'd be staying in one place for a few days. All he had to do was to put the mail into the box, address the label as we gave him the address over the phone and drop the box into the local FedEx box. We get the package the next day at the campground, so we have our mail. One time we don't get the package as expected, and even the next day the package doesn't come in the AM so we start calling Dad and FedEx. FedEx finds the package and tells us we should have it that afternoon. Sure enough, if shows up. FedEx claims they delivered on time. Looking at the tracking, it shows it was sent from another town and not my Dad's town. Bottom line, we argued with FedEx about them losing the package and not getting it on time, and finally they decide to refund our money. About a week later, talking with my Dad he says that he was in the building where he dropped off the FedEx package and the FedEx box is gonzo. So he goes to the guard's desk who tells him they've never had a FedEx box there, it's always been only DHL. The DHL driver must have picked up the box and put it into a FedEx box in the next town for us.  |

| I have been having trouble with Fedex. I was suppose to receive a package last week and it never came. When I called with the tracking number I was told it had a completly different address on it and they could not locate me. I gave them the correct address and they said it
would be taken care of. That was on Thursday. Then I asked the person who shipped it what address did he use? He told me that he used my correct address. Well I have not received my package yet and the tracking has not been updated since last Thursday. 
This means to me that I will never ship anything by FedEx.  |
