I got a really nice letter in my card from Marianne that's prompting me to post and give an update. Way back at the begining of the summer, I had the Pink Bermuda dress, and I went to some weddings in it and had a new boyfriend. He didn't make it to the end of August. (lazy plus other issues) I wore it to a wedding in August, and some lady spilled white wine all over it. I tried to wash it by hand and it shrunk. I didn't know it shrink till I brought it with me on the cruise ship. I went to Bermuda again on a cruise ship as a tour guide in October, and the Pink Dress suffered a wardrobe malfuntion. It doesn't fit anymore. Well, anyway - November came, and Dudley had a "tail accident". The tiniest tip of his tail got stuck in the window. It was raining and positively pouring outside - the kind of rain that soaks the inside of your car if the door is open for too long. And I got some expert help is bandaging it up, and the tail stayed good for a week or two. Then he tore it off one night, and everything was ok till my roommate came home from work and he started wagging. My kitchen cabinets now have a nice distressed wood finish. I've come to the conclusion that the tail is probably a parasitic twin that never developed or something. Surely it can't be part of MY dog! <insert sarcasm here> Duds is doing just fine now. I decided to stop bandaging it and let him keep it clean. It never got dirty or infected, and it's not splitting open anymore. There are 2 weddings left this year (Dec and Jan), and I'm in one of them. The Pink Bermuda dress has now been replaced with the Very Red Dress (http://pics.livejournal.com/kweenkmatt/pic/0000dsdx). The Very Red Dress has the High Black Heels that go with it. I figure I deserve to wear barbie-type shoes with a dress like that. My friend Sarah from high school is getting married in two weeks. I begged to wear a green dress, being as I never wear red. She likes red, though - so I loose. Anywho, there is a new boyfriend now - Paul. Paul is coming with me to the December wedding. He's a vet tech. Dudley LOVES this man. Paul is a bit of a dog whisperer. In January, one of my ex boyfriends from college is getting married in Atlanta. I'm going to that wedding with his old roommate, who is also an ex boyfriend of mine. (dated one then the other) Excitement plus! The people going to this wedding are fundimentalist Baptists, so the Very Red Dress is inapparopriate, and I'll have to find something else to wear. Maybe a pants-suit. And between the men and the dresses, Duds is going nuts with the change of the weather. I can't walk him or play enough. Paul babysits him on his days off during the week, and that's a real good thing. I am taking him driving at the riverside park on weekends as time allows. It's now getting to be too cold to do that, so we go for walks and sometimes to the dog park when there is time. And that's the Katie update for now. The OES Taxi company drove 2 sheepies to CT this weekend. They came from a commercial breeding establishment that closed. ~Katie & Duds. |

LMAO! That's a lot of excitement and you happened to explain it so I couldn't stop smiling Poor Duds and your kitchen! I can't wait to hear about the wedding in which you can't wear the red dress. Will there even be dancing? |
Holy cow, you have been busy girl!! Glad to hear all is well and your red dress is hot and sexy and black sassy shoes are the perfect match!! Hope you have a great time at all of the future weddings....I cant believe that youre going to your ex's...lol....Id go if only I could trip him on the dance floor later that night
Take a deep breath and enjoy the holidays.... |
I hope so, but it's hard enough to walk in 4" heels, let alone dance in them. They might be the first things to go at the reception. ~K. |

Nice dress Poor Duds... I know a great dane who had the same problem, and it kept happening so they had to amputate the tail. She now looks like a giant weimeraner (she is a blue dane) |

Not 100% sure - not weird persay, but not super-comfortable. The trip to Atlanta has been planned since May. Cody (the ex with whom I'm going) has always been a long-time friend of mine and has other romantic interests currently. It shouldn't be a problem. |
