It was very wet and muddy so when it was time for them to come in I took a towel outside to wipe their feet. Our garage is attached to the kitchen, and leads to the backyard, and I also have a runner carpet for them to wipe on on the garage floor. I was wiping Dixie's feet and saw that Bosley was acting weird...agitated, kind of....and kept coming to me, and then back to the carpet...I put Dixie in the house, and turned to clean up Bosley...and almost screamed! On the carpet runner were 3 piles of what looked like grey and white feathers...Oh, Man!!! Now I had a dead bird to deal with....Upon closer examination, it wasn't a bird, but what was left of a full grown, fresh rabbit!!! Yucky...Yuck....YUCK!!! It was in three different chunks, mostly just legs and stuff. I rolled it up in the carpet runner, while gagging, and then the head rolled out onto the garage floor..with the ears gone...... The EYES were still there, though, looking at me! I was so grossed out, had to pick it up with some newspaper and threw the whole thing in the garbage. Fortunately it was garbage day today..... Poor Bosley was quite concerned that I did not appreciate his skills, and didn't quite understand why I wasn't thrilled with him and his prowness. And this is the boy who is afraid of the little bunnies at nite when it is dark.....Man!!!! YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!! |

Awww Sorry Nicole.
We had bunnies around here for a couple of years, but they disappeared this year. We don't think Mulligan got them, but there have been Coyote sightings. Glad I didn't have to deal with the aftermath. |
ewwwww....gross....so youre not going to mount and display his trophy? |
I would just die |
Ewwww....
I bet he's proud though...LOL We have bunnies in our yard too, but my dogs don't bother them, and the bunnies know they won't, so they don't even run away when I let the dogs out. I think my dogs must think they like the cats, a pet LOL |
Yuck - the eyes always get me too!
Our dogs are frequently catching something and dragging it up into the yard. If son Travis is home I have him deal with it - otherwise I scoop it up with a shovel and avert my gaze and gag while bringing it over to the burning barrel. They look at me so sad - like mom, aren't you keeping it?? |
Grrrrrr!!!!!
We were out working in the yard today and they got another one!!!! This one had brown and white fur....!!!! Dixie was chowing down on it hidden in some bushes, and then shared a leg with Bosley!!!!! Geezzz! No kisses from these two until that picture of the red, bloody leg is no longer the first thing I think of when I look at these two animals!!! Well, I guess we will see if Dixie is allergic to rabbit meat....I can't believe it!...I am still gagging!!! |
wow your Canadian rabbits must be slow or the two are a lot quicker than you thought....nice of them to share with each other though.......there is a sweet note to end on |
Be verrrrrry verrrrrrry quiet....I'm hunting rabbits..
Bosley, aka.. Elmer Fudd |
Ewww! Nicole I am sorry.

A skunk? Did she get sprayed at the same time??? Gross! Yes she did. I didn't know she was sprayed she ran up onto the deck with Blood dripping from the sides of her mouth. I immediately opened the door to see what had happened to her. It must have sprayed her and then she attacked it. It was the skunks blood in her mouth. YUCK!!! |
That is really disgusting!!!! It must have been a smell to behold!! I hope my puppy doesn't do that!!

When I opened the door the scent was so strong it made my eyes burn to the point I couldn't see. I was also gasping for breath.
The clean up was wonderful too. especially since it happened at 2 am and I was out of Tomato juice. After a trip to the store and many many washing the sun had come up and she still smelled and so did I. I was not a happy camper. I hope your pup doesn't do that either! |
At least she was/is a boxer and not one of the long, fluffy, mattable sheepies
Nic |
Yes, I couldn't even imagine a Sheepie.
Believe it or not even with such short hair that smell stayed with her for quite a while. |
That is soooo funny!! I don't know if they have skunks up here in Alaska, but I'm sure they do in N.California and Oregon where in hopefully a year or so we'll be going. (DH Hates the winter LOL ) |
helloooo! eating breakfast here!!!! Gross!! I would die if Callie caught something like that! And the worst part is that I would probably have to clean it up - my husband can hardly pick up poop without gagging. |
I know what you mean!! My hubby gets grossed out by everything!! Although in all fairness, he is the only guy I know that has gotten sprayed by infant poop by 2 kids while changing diapers....
Sorry, I still laugh at that!!! *tears! Nic |
Sadie started hunting magpies ... it's really quite amuzing to watch her try to climb trees ... |
you have to have pics of that!!!! Nic |
of her climbing trees ???
no she's rather self concious of certain things ... like in the bath she crys if the camera comes out ... and if she's playing and the camera comes out she stops and stacks and stares at you |
Bummer!!!!
