OMG Chili just choked to death
She was doing so good. We tried the heimlich, we stuck our fingers down her throat... Nothing helped. She died in Billy's arms.  |

I had to see where this topic was placed because I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought Chili swallowed whatever it was. Oh no... that's terrible to know she was miserable the entire time. I'm so sorry Pepsi's Mommy. I can't imagine how hurt you are right now

In the X-rays the Greenie had been stuck in an enlarged area of the espohagus (the enlarged area of the esophagus may have been caused by a birth defect, at least that is what the vet said.) I am thinking that when it got small enough to move out of the area it was in it probably got stuck in the smaller area beyond. I really thought she had gotten better.

| I am extremely sorry! I feel so bad for you. You gave her a really good life that she wouldn't have had. You did everything you could for her. God must need her for something really important.
You gave her a lot of love in a short time. Maybe you gave her the best part of her life? I am sorry, I know there is nothing that will make you feel better. But you know that you are not alone and we all care very much about you. I am sorry for Billy and the kids as well they must be very sad and devastated. |

| Thanks everyone. I had a hard time coming back here to post.
Chili was a very independant dog, very cat like. She would do her own thing until she decided it was time for attention. Then she would jump right up on my lap and snuggle. In our snuggle sessions she would stand up and put her head on my forehead and run against me like a cat. She was a real sweetie. We miss her tremendously! We all decided it would be best for our family to adopt another dog. In Chili's honor. Obviously another dog will not replace Chili, but it does help ease the pain a bit. Last Thursday we adopted Lacey, a terrier mix. Ryan was having a very hard time and is thrilled to have another dog. He does keep asking about Chili...even though he was there and saw what happened. |
