I am SO sick
last night around midnight, my stomach started saying naughty things to me. ...and before i knew it, i was throwing it all up. it's 7:55 a.m., and i can't lift my head and didn't get a wink of sleep. i've been throwing up every hour. I feel bad that i have to call my friend and tell her i can't give her a ride to get her car fixed. i can't move!!! anyway, the symptoms seem to be the same as when i got food poison (we assumed) when i ate sausage hotdogs at work on day, so i'm going to assume that's what this is. hopefully it goes away by this afternoon because my maltese has to see the vet. my groomer has ALWAYS cleaned my dog's ears, so i assume the one i was taking her to now was. ...and i was a bad mom and not checking. now she has a bad case of earmites. her left ear smells terrible. anyway, this stinks. |

I have heard MANY MANY MANY stories of friends getting sick from T Bell...I don't eat fast food myself, so I haven't been sick, but watch out for TBell! |

| I would, I would! A trip to AK would be so fun. I just watched my grand daughter all last week because her daycare lady was in the hospital. Luckily my work schedule permitted it - I had to work 36 hours over the weekend and had most of the week off......
Time to call in some favors from the other wives that you help! |
| Taco Bell is off our list of fast food places to grab a bite.
For a while when we ate there at least one of the 4/5 of us got sick...upset stomach, nauseas (sp), so we just stopped going. It is actually a joke, now in our household...Someone mentions Taco Bell and the rest pretend to hurl

Oh no! That's terrible, Jo! I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. Food poisoning is an awful, wretched kind of sick.  I hope you've got a friend who can come over & help with Lil J.  Keeping up with him while being sick has got to be hard. |
| Oh, you poor thing! Evil Taco bell! I never go there, Mike told me too many evil stories from his teenage TB days... If you can maybe one of your fellow officer wives can pick up Lil J for a while so you can recooperate? Don't forget if you're sick for more then 24 hours GET INTO THE HOSPITAL! Mr J isn't there to watch you and make sure you get better, so take care of yourself. Remember, Echoli poisoning can be very dangerous!

| Just try and drink as much fluid as possible so you don't become dehydrated. And if it ends up coming back up, at least it makes it so there's something to come up...
I would call the T Bell. Ask for the manager and just say I ate there yesterday at noon and had the nacho bell grande and I am now super sick. It's better to report it to them than not to...who knows, maybe a ton of people get sick there, but if nobody reports it, how would anyone know? |

| OH NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! How awful!!!!!!!!! PLEASE see your Dr if you aren't better soon. You are a small person (slim) and can very easily get dehydrated. Food poisening can be serious so BE CAREFUL!!!!

| May be time to give up the fat too. As we age, body doesn't do fat as well as when we were younger........until your gall bladder give up....and then it's easier, but not great once again.
Hope you are better. I am really cautious about fast food places anymore........and greasy spoon diners. |
| There is nothing worse then food poisoning, if you have not settled down in the tummy within 12/24 hours please go and see a doctor as it can be very serious, like listeria if it was chicken not cooked properly in the food. Also you might need medication anyway to help feel better. Drink lots of water and take some gator aide or something like that to help keep you re-hydrated, stay off eating anything till the symptoms has settled down a bit, just concentrate on fluids. Then just start back with bland food if you are feeling a bit better.
So don't muck around with it for too long as it can end up being quite serious if you are not feeling any better. Nothing worse then a bad dose of food. I would report it too that you got sick from there food. |

I feel like a big baby. Well heck.. I am whenever I am sick. My temperature is 101. I'm not vomitting "as much" but any water I take in, comes right up. I'm just worried about lil J getting sick. So, I called the 1800 line we have for any medical questions. She is the second person (first, just being a friend) that says it's possible that I have a 24-hr bug that's been going around the entire state (severe diarrhea and vomiting w/temp). They said that because of my temperature. I'm not a medical expert, but I feel 100% it is food poisoning. I ONLY went to taco bell yesterday, and through the drive-thru. This is a lot like what happened last time I had it. And when I looked up the symptoms of it, it said fever. Either way, the nurse said the treatment is the same. She told me not to eat anything today. Drink only a Tablespoon of water or ice chips every 5 minutes. Anything more will cause me to throw up, and she's right. She said only a diluted version of gatorade. Then tomorrow, only rice, oatmeal, toast, and something else. I don't remember... I can't stand up at all. I'm going to go in if my temp. goes up to 102.5 (her advise). |
| If you can try drinking some pedialyte. I know it's for children but it is great to keep you hydrated even if you sip a little at a time it will help. I hate the way it taste so I use some root beer flavoring in it.

| Some bug must be going around. I had the explosive diarrhea thing on Tuesday (perhaps TMI but we're all adults here, aren't we???). Wednesday was slightly better. Definitely keep hydrated and go to the doctor if it continues.

| Poor Little J.....his mommy is really sick. I hope you are feeling better today and can hold down water. Toast, oatmeal, (rice and cooked ground beef like doggies with tender tummies?). When we were past the toast stage, Mom would make us "flan" from eggs and sweetened condensed milk in a double boiler...and I think some water, but not much. Milk and eggs and further along the recovery menu, though. |

Jo, I hope you're feeling better today! 
My kids were prone to stomach viruses as kids. I know this probably isn't a stomach virus, but I would think the cure would be close or the same. We always reverted to the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, very weak tea with a LOT of sugar). No real apples (too much acid), but applesauce, and the regular kind with sugar in it. And, of course, pedialyte or gatorade to help keep you hydrated. Good luck! |
Yes, the BRAT diet is what I should be eating today. I still have a fever, but I haven't vomitted or had diarrhea. Thanks everone!  |

even if i haven't showered or brushed my teeth? i wouldn't get close to ANYONE who hasn't brushed their teeth. 
i ate some triscuits, and my stomach isn't agreeing. i've lost 10lbs. can't be too bad.
i remember in wellness appts that babies aren't supposed to have diarrhea?? lil j has had it for 3 days. then, my friend (husband is a medic in army) said it's okay when babies are 1 (close to it). I keep thinking, it's probably because the only thing he will eat the past 3 days is breastmilk. Sooooo... I think I'll wait another day to see if it changes. He's not running a fever or anything. |

but it's all i ate since noon tues. just didn't feel the effects until tues night (well, midnight). it has to be mostly fluids. i can't keep anything down! the scale says 126lbs. after drinking some water. |

I forced myself to drink gatorade which we have a lot of (was mr. j's...i hate the stuff). i'm starting to feel a lot better too. |

| There was a news report this morning about a whole bunch of people getting very ill from Taco Bell. Some even ended up in the hospital. I went to the CBS website to see if I could find more details for you, and even though it was a big story, there isn't any mention of it...Taco Bell must be a big sponser! I hope you are feeling better now. |

| Yep. The manager didn't give a crap. I guess you should never expect much when the people running the joint are janky and crappy people.
Of course I wasn't expecting anything since I was probably the only one who called in (not sure about now), but I did think I would get an apology for any inconvenience. |
