Welcome! I commend you for doing research before selecting a breed!
A few places you can get some information on OES are.... www.oldenglishsheepdogclubofamerica.org www.akc.org Both of these places will offer information regarding the breed. Yes, they are wonderful! The most important thing is to get one from a reputable breeder though. Many are bred without consideration of health and/or temperment. Two things that are so important with Old English Sheepdogs!!! Is there a Kennel Club in Estonia? I would recommend getting a breeder referral through a kennel club and/or organization in your Country - or attend a dog show where you'd be able to meet breeders in person. Good Luck in your search! thanks....
oes is rare breed in estonia. but i found one kennel. http://www.hot.ee/egordego/ i like this dog very much...and i think that someday will i buy one puppy... but to me is very important, that dog is friendly...so i hope, that i find dog who is real friend... i have got one dog. he is st.bernard. i love him very much.he is wonderful, but he is self-conscious. what can i do with oes? is oes smart?can i "work" with him?(example:agility) |
Yes, alot of OES do agility and compete in obedience. They are very smart (sometimes stubborn) and with the right training (and temperment) - they could probably do anything you wanted them to do!
Like I had said previously, responsible breeding plays an important role in the temperment of an OES! As long as you select from a reputable breeder who takes great care in breeding for health and temperment - you are likely to have a healthy, happy, friendly, and smart pup! Good Luck! Kristen |

i have not got oes yet...but someday i will
because they are just perfekt for me:) when have got one oes...then i tell u.. |
Laura, Welcome to the wonderful world of sheepies (OES)!!! They are truly loving, friendly and smart dogs. And even though big (and they appear clumsy) they do great with agility. But...they are a lot of work!!! They need a lot of grooming. I brush my dog everyday. But if you have the time, they certainly are worth it, and I think my time spent grooming Pirate brings us closer. Oh...and they are BIG! But since you have st. Bern. you are probably used to that. Can't wait to hear when you get your new lovely! By the way, I love your accent!!!! |
HI!
Unfortunatly I am the first and only breeder of OES in Estonia And as Laura said, she found us. I don`t know, will she take a puppy from our next litter or will she wait a little bit longer. But this not right place to introduce myself. I`ll try to find a propriate place for introducing |
This is a perfect place for you to introduce yourself! Welcome! I'm Deborah, mom of Captain Whitehead Duval (aka Pirate). |
Congratulations to the Egor-Dego Kennel. I went to your website to view your lovely and accomplished dogs http://www.hot.ee/egordego/ . It sounds like you do quite a lot of shows and that must keep you busy, particularly if you are the only representatives of the breed in your geographic area.
Seems like you have great dogs -- Good Luck. |
