I don't actually know anything about it, but I'm sorry you and your dog are going through it. I'm sure you'll find lots of support and advice here, I come to this site now more than I check my email. |
thank you. beautiful dog. |
I decided to go looking, and found this link, which is actually in conjunction to an article that suggests raw diets cause bowel and immune problems, and makes a gross refernce to what some of the cheaper pet foods are made of.... eeeewwwwww
http://www.life.ca/nl/83/pets.html This link is in reference to what they call "probiotics" , basically yogurt, a healthy source of natural and necessary bacterias and digestive enzymes. http://www.pets4life.com/art19.html This looks to be an informative site with info on IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) SBS (Spastic Bowel Syndrome) IBS (Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome)Lymphocytic-plasmacytic Inflammatory Bowel Disease http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/colitis.html This site has a vet info forum, which may be useful to hear others experiences, what worked and what didn't. http://www.vetinfo.com/dinfbowel.html I hope that helps a little! |
Thanks very much for all your help. I will check out those sites, for sure! Hope your baby never comes down with it. Thanks again! |
I hope your dog is doing better. we have an oes who has a very sensitive stomach. We have switched his foods on occassion and have found california natural to be the best for him. If he gets any table foods he usually winds up with an irratable bowel movement. Our dog was hospitalized over a year ago, he had loose movements and vomiting for over a month,. After many visits we found out that he had counter surfed and swalloed a flexible metal key ring. The key ring caused lots of upset amd surgery was needed to remove it . Now when Buddi has an upset stomach for over a week the vet always suspects a foreign object had been ingested and most of the time she is correct.
Anyway what kind of diet did they put your oes on? I hope it works out well for you Dawn & Buddi |
Hello,
I'm not sure I can help at all, but as a PERSON with IBS, I know that the doctors say anxiety plays a big role. I am on an anxiety medicine that controls my IBS enough that most days I can have a normal life. If your dog seems to suffer from anxiety the IBS might be a secondary symptom. Again, I don't know if a person and a dog would have any relation in symptoms, but I thought I would say in case it would help. I wish you the best in finding the best care. Stormi and co. |
