GREAT!!!! I went camera browsing last night and there are so many options - which one is yours? |
Thank guys
Emily and Stacey, I bought the Canon Powershot S3 IS. Here is some info on the camera. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons3is/ I did have a Hewlett Packard Photomart 945. I do miss it because I was very comfortable taking pictures with it. I was also very familiar with all the setting. Now I have to learn the new camera. One thing I am very happy about is that the new camera is lighter than the HP. I weighs the same as the HP did without batteries in it. So a lighter camera is definitely a plus . |
Cool! Looks nice, lots of extras...
I have the fuji finepix s5200 and absolutely LOVE it. |
WOOO HOOOO look forward to the pictures Elissa |
I love new toys. Glad you got it in! |
I just uploaded some pictures that I took with the new camera.
Waiting on approval. Mostly pics of Rags inside, but some outside shots of flowers too. Keep and eye out in the picture section |

Thanks I'm in Sunny California in the Desert....so pretty much the same weather as the Phoenix AZ area. HOT HOT Summers and gorgeous warm winters. I lived in the NY/NJ area for 27 yrs I know just how cold you are. |
What do you think of the S3? Is the lag between picture and picture acceptable, or you can shoot in continuous mode?
How's the image quality? I want to get one of those.... I'm too poor to get a Rebel |
It is excellent Saul. No noticible lag at all...it is soo quick. It has a continuous burst mode for taking a whole bunch in a row.
I was also told if I got the new faster SD card...like the San Disk ultra, the faster write time on it will make the shooting faster. I used a regular 1 gb card and took a bunch of shots on the sports setting and was able to take pics one right after another. I made losing my old camera to the camera gods worth it, to be working with such a good camera. Here are some of the pictures I took at the Zoo on Sunday. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v613/ ... %20Desert/ The shot of the Giraffe was taken at full zoom. He was so far away I couldn't even make out his features. Also the Zebra was on full zoom. I highly recommend this as the next best thing to a Rebel Also it takes videos which the Rebel does not. I'd rather have the S3 myself. It has soooo many features. It also offers manual settings. So you have total control on how the picture turns out. I am still learning the right settings so some of my photos have not been up to par. I did learn that the Image Stabilizer does not work in the sports setting, which is how I captured the Wolves because they were moving. I have shaky hands from arthritis so it's not as clear as the other photos where the image stabilizer comes on automatically. The Image Stabilizer is by far the best feature for me. |
Glad it was worth the wait. |
