Today I had my Parent Teacher conference. Ryan had been playing on the playground with his friend Brett when I arrived. He introduced me to Brett. A few minutes later Brett's Mom came out of her conference and asked if I was Ryan's Mom. She told me that the boys are really good friends and they'd like to have Ryan over for a playdate. I was completely shocked as Ryan had never been invited to anyone's house. He is a hard kid to handle. I guess he is always very nice and polite to Brett's Mom. I wish he was like that with me. Ryan does seem to do better with people he doesn't live with. lol He was always great for his babysitter. We started talking and found out she had recently moved from Orange County, that is where we moved from. We had a whole lot in common and talked for a while. I said how Ryan had wanted to have his friends over to play but I didn't have anyone's #. She said she knows nobody here. I only know a few people here. So I am really really hoping that Ryan is good for his playdate. It would be great to become friends with his Mom, especially since her child is also in Special Ed. It would be great to have someone to talk to. Wish us luck!! |

I'm so happy. I hope it turns into a long friendship for both kids and mommy!
With all these school posts, I think I want to raise lil J in a cave and never come out. |

With all these school posts, I think I want to raise lil J in a cave and never come out. Thanks : ) me too As for school... I am pretty upset. Ryan's teacher is on medical leave since the beginning of the school year. They have had a ton of different substitutes. The teacher that I met with today was supposed to leave tomorrow but will be there at least until the 28th. At that point either the teacher returns or has a extension on her leave, or what I am really hoping for is that she resign. There has been talk of that. If she does Resign then the school could hire a new permanent teacher for the class. Ryan has been in this teacher's class for 2 yrs. She was teaching Special Ed grades 1,2 & 3. I cannot stand the woman as I think she is the one who called CPS over a totally ridiculous story that Ryan told. (The case worker from CPS even thought the story that Ryan told was way too impossible to believe.) She's old too and set in her ways. I saw Ryan getting further and further behind in her class. This year so far he had major improvements, dispite the ever changing face of his teachers. He does have one constant.... The Aide, Miss Mitsy. |
Good for Ryan! Yaaaaahhh!!!!!
There is nothing like a good friend to hang out with to boost a kid's confidence! Gee, Elissa....next he'll be talking sleepovers! Then you will be in for it! And as for Lil J, he already has some little playmates, right???? Never too early to start the socializing.... |
