| Her mommy doesn't feel like celebrating this year. She went to Petco yesterday and got herself a bone, but mean mommy only let her have it for 10 minutes. I was worried about her allergies acting up if she had it too long.
I'm thinking of letting her go to Petco again today because we normally go nuts over birthdays. Maybe some canned Iams food too. She did have fun with a breed her mommy has never heard of from turkey yesterday. It was an Anatolian Shepherd from Turkey. Yuki seems to get along with dogs twice her size. She's submissive rather than her normal hyper self.  |

Genevieve met some Anatolian Shepherds last spring when we went for their herding instinct tests. They were working dogs, guarding the flocks in the fields. She had no interest at all in the sheep, but was intensely fascinated with the dogs.
I didn't let her play with them, of course, because they were working, and I didn't think the owner would appreciate it. But, she couldn't take her eyes off of them and kept trying to "talk" to them. They were pretty interesting to watch work. |

| The guy I saw taught his dog to do many tricks. One of them is to sit up on his butt. I guess for other dogs, it would be "beg." I think the old man was showing off his dog b/c he kept making her do it. I just felt so bad because it looked like it had to be hard on her spine or SOMETHING. This dog was over 100lbs. This is why I never taught Yuki "beg" although she picked it up herself (from saying it to my maltese). I always think it has to hurt sitting on her butt because of her stub tail.

They were pretty interesting to watch work. That's the one thing we hate about taking yuki sheep herding. There's another sheepie there, but we can't play with her because it's "work time." Mr. J has been told "no" so many times by the person who trains them.  |

Wow it does just seem like yesterday when Yuki was a little pup! Now she's grown into such a pretty girl! Must take after her mama I'm thinking.
