Just curious about what anyone else thinks of it so far and if they have run into any bugs? |

Firefox 2.0 is better.
It isn't vulnerable to the viruses IE is, and your information is more secure. Wherever there is a text box (like where I'm replying right now), it has a built in spell check. It also allows you to open several windows ...in one window. |
IE 7.0 has all that now too.... |
well holy crap.
I only know a lot of tech support gurus on another site are holding off on the upgrade. Said it screws with all sorts of plug-ins and settings and throws your system out of whack. |
I like it but it crashes all the time for me. Just freezes up. |
I had heard bad things too which is why I've put it off so long, but I am bored....so..... LOL
Anyway, I'm pleasantly surprised. Time will tell if it screws things up or not... lol |
I downloaded it last week. When I go to close the I.E. 7 window it will go into error mode and sends an error report.
My computer also seems to be slower. Despite upgrading my memory after downloading I.E. 7. |
I like my Mac. |
Holy cow don't get me started!!!!!!!!!! I HATE IE 7.0
Not only does it screw up my internet stuff, it is also interfering with other stuff on my pc. I often have to reboot, it freezes up all the time, I get weird error messages and halt program stuff I have never even seen before. And the part I hate the most is I can't access my email through it, I have to run outlook as a totally separate program. And I'll tell you something else, don't bother trying to get help with any problems. Tech support will tell you some stupid thing, like "it's something in your bios" and refuse to try further. Of course that will only be after you have waited for 25 minutes to get a person on the line, and then another 20 minutes telling the person about your system, the problem and then running through a laundry list of tests that reveal absolutely nothing. Did that sound bitter? hmmm Shellie |
I think it's meant to run on newer machines. They should probably state that somewhere though so people don't install it if their machine can't run it....
Mine is still doing fine with it.... so far |
This is what two computer tech folks said on another board:
Quote: IE7 is one of the automatic updates for Windows now. As of last week. IE7 is about on the level with FF 1.5, and also has some anti-phishing measure. Be wary, the new version doesn't work on a lot of webpages (we haven't rolled it out at work for this reason), and MS is very slow to fix things, especially when people don't pay money for them. FF 2.0 is out and is still worlds ahead of IE. Add all the extensions that are available for FF and the choice is pretty clear cut. Not all of the exstensions for FF work with the new version yet, but open-source geeks are usually very quick to get stuff fixed. You will still run across sites that only work with IE though. The difference is, they usually work with IE6, not with IE7. And IE's pop-up blocking and security are still no match for FF Quote: Most of the problems with IE7 are related to the changes that MS made in how the browser handles CSS (cascading style sheets). It is a lot more compliant with CSS standards than IE6 is. If a site has its CSS set up correctly (that can sometimes be subjective, I know), it should work fine or be easily fixed. |
My machine isn't that old really. I know Vic thinks it is way
outdated, but really it's only about 2 years old. I guess that could be too old, but I've been running IE7 for a while now. My main problem is that it is so overloaded. I have so much garbage (that Vic insists he needs) crammed on here that I end up running system mechanic almost daily. I'm sure that has a lot to do with my problems, but most of this didn't start till I switched from IE6. I think that handled the load a lot better. Shellie |
