We read that they were easy to get along with and that was important as we have three other dogs and two cats. Well other than the fact we never expected her to get so big so fast all is great. She gets along with all the other pets very well. It was fun watching her go from the size of our Shih Tzu to bigger than our Springer in the last 4 months. She still plays gentle with the Shih Tzu and gets rough and tough with the largest Springer(we have two). The only down side so far has been potty training. A 44 pound puppy sure makes a big puddle! That and we have to keep the bathroom door closed because rolls of toilet paper are her favorite toys. Well thats about it for now. |

Hi! Glad to have you here! You sure must have a busy and fun household! Welcome to the forum! The babies grow so quickly! We still can't believe how big Foz is now at 9 months. |
Welcome! I sympathize about the toilet rolls . . . |

Best wishes with your puppy! Training is important because she is still growing. Sounds like she has become a family member already. Please post pictures! |
Thanks for the welcome. I need to get some photos. My daughter has the camera so untill I remember to get it from her I don't have any. |
Welcome from Minnesota.
This forum is a great place to learn about OES and get your questions answered. Plus it is just fun too . |
Welcome |
Welcome from mid-eastern PA!! There are quite a few fellow PAians on the site. What is your puppy's name? |
Welcome from northeastern PA Looking forward to seeing some pics |
Opps I forgot to say, Her name is Hazel Magoo. When we got her the owners little girl had named her just for them to identify but we liked the name Hazel that they were calling her and the mothers name was Molly Magoo so we just added the Magoo. It was funny I found her on the internet and saw photos of her and her sister. I told my wife in the morning I found one and gave her the number. She said she found one in the paper and it ended up being the same one. I was hopeing my wife would pick Hazel from what I read about her and seeing her photo. When we got there Hazel ran right to my wife and would not leave her alone. Even though it should be all black we fell in love with the big pink spot on the center of her nose. As she gets bigger the spot looks smaller but I don't think it actually is. My wife is afraid it will go away. |
Hi Don!!!
Welcome to the forum! Good luck with the training! |
G'day, welcome from Australia, enjoy Hazel, I am sure you will. |
Welcome to the forum:)
OES are born with pink noses that fill in as they get older. Most are totally filled in by 8 weeks, but for some it takes longer. My girl Dancer had a pink spot til she was several months old, but it did eventually fill in. |
Welcome to the Forum!! Can't wait to hear more from you and your new sheepie!! |
I am bummed out! I was hopeing her nose would stay pink. |
Well not really, if it stays pink then you have a huge risk of skin cancer developing there and more proning to sun burn on the pink, they have pigment coming up on the pink skin for many years as they mature. Watch the eye rims, you will start seeing pigment imerging there too as she matures, eventually looks like eye liner circling the whole eye. More pigment will imerge across the muzzle as well. Heck on a lot of places as they mature, sometimes pink nails turn black, pads on the feet develope black splotches etc etc.
Always good to have a big black shiny nose, then you don't have problems down the track. |
Thanks for the info. |
Welcome from SouthCentral PA!!! |
Just came home from the vet. Hazel is 43 pounds. Got the last of her shots and the vet said she looked great. She was very well behaved in the car and at the vets. Took her and both Springers. Man were we brave. |
Hello and welcome. Hazel sounds like a cutie. One of ours had lots of pink on her nose and it took a long time to eventually turn all black. |
Hi, and welcome from Norway, glad the visit to the vet vent well |
